Did the Rockets and Celtics start the game on the wrong baskets?

I was thinking about the monster dunks Patterson has had in the last couple of games, specifically the put-back jam vs the Celtics and then the fast break dunk against the Jazz. Well I thought about it, and both of those dunks occurred in the 2nd half of those games, but on different baskets.

Aren't teams usually supposed to score on the basket opposite of their bench in the first half?

Didn't mean to start a new thread about this minor detail, but it's going to bug the hell out of me if I can't get some clarity on this rule.

If I recall correctly, the away team decides which way they want to go.
