I fully agree with DaDakota. And the funniest thing is that he's had a lot of wide open shoots, not well contested.

Listen to your own words. You said he is not a playmaker, he can't make something happen and he is terrible at shooting. Those are the most important attributes of a point guard. From your description it is safe to say Rafer sucks.

I think he is pretty descent running the point guard position as long as he can sink those long range shots.

IF he sucked, he would not get over 40 minuts of playing time.

Can't you understand that we didn't have another option. JL, Vspan. Yea maybe VSpan could play but JVG didn't want it. Rafer just knew he was alone. That's all.

Can you really say Rafer played well?

i still got that boston game stuck in my head. 1-11 fg's....1-10 behind the arc. STARIGHT UP RIDICULOUS...im sorry

i didnt say he averaged 11 threes a game. im saying if you look at his shot attempts, he took HALF if not the majority were threes. i shoudlve made that clear. he'll go 3-10 (1-7 behind the arc)
you can talk about toronto all you want. i could care less what he did there. as far as numbers go, he's doing the same thing he is here than what he did in toronto.

it would be nice if he had more assists than three point shots attempted.

you want numbers. look at this years game log. HE shoots teh ball way to much, but thats a another story. look at the game where he shot more than 7 threes. those threes make up half of if not most of his shots for the whole game.

    lol...1/5 and 1/7
he has no business shooting the ball 17 times in a course of a game.

yall can keep talkin about toronto, but i'll talk about houston

He certainly played better than Steve Francis. You could argue better than Mike James.

except andre miller shot 35 threes all year, becuase he knows he cant make them....averaged more assists and shot better from the field. he can take it to the hole too.

and if you look at last season, he gets to the line more than rafer. you'll see less 0-0 FT's. in fact you'll actually see 9-9 for andre miller

Wow i forgot how bad he was in the playoffs too. just as bad as luther head

he shot 74 shots in the playoffs. 50 were 3pt attempts
HE AVERAGED 7 THREE POINT ATTEMPTS A GAME IN THE PLAYOFFS! lol

No much say about Rafer except that he can control the ball well.

people are just saying he's bad because of the missed 3 points opportunities.

    that's all they look at.

Yes. Rafer also did a good job at making big mistakes down the stretch of close games. He is a good ball handler and above average passer, but his scoring ability is inconsistent at best. Too streaky of an outside shooter and he MIGHT have been 10% with those running tear drop shots.

CD saw it plain as day, the coach did not agree with CD's player acquisitions.

Point guards on Rockets last year better than Rafer Alston.

    Vassilis Spanoulis
    John Lucas III

Undersized shooting guards on Rockets last year better than Rafer Alston.

    Luther Head

And IMO Luther Head and John Lucas III are two of the worst defenders I've ever seen.

Not only that all-time worst performance EVER by a starting point in NBA playoffs award goes to.........

Rafer Alston 2007 against the Utah Jazz!

Morey is an absolute nut job if he thinks he's getting something good for Rafer $15 million left on his contract Alston.

On another note, he's not bad as a 4th string point guard.

I love it when I bother to put in my two cents and people dont even bother reading it before replying. thats one of the reasons why my participation in this forum has trailed off badly.

I AM NOT talking about Toronto.

All I was doing was giving you are a hard time for raggin on that guy about using worthless stats when you were just making them up as you went.

dont bother jacking up your post count to reply to me if you arent gonna actually read mine.

Yeah, that is how I read your take R2K. You should post more in the GARM, it needs more people like you, whether we agree or not.

So, as to the topic R2K, what do you think? I see you voted yes, so why do you believe that Rafer did a good job?
