Did anyone else get the impression before the season that players' heads were getting big?

I didn't feel like this at all. The only thing that bothered me is that we found out late that Harden had been injured somewhat and didn't do much at all during the off-season, which explains his lack of sharp play. I also don't like how he feels entitled, but at the same time he said a lot of the right things and even with some attitude that he can do more. I feel like this year they should prove more than ever that they are elite. So other than Harden thinking he's all that, I didn't get that impression.

Maybe if your expectations were that we would all of a sudden win 60 games and that Ty Lawson was going to be huge, maybe then yes. This was more the media and fans talking though. I never sensed or read players saying we are now much better, we are better than this or that team etc. The only thing I hated was Ty Lawson's big mouth. I only got excited until recently about the trade, because of his history and the sense that he was never the guy to give a 110% every night.

Sounds like I may have been on to something. I said I thought the team was too relaxed and content and thought they could just show up and would beat teams.

Seems Harden might be implying the same thing.

Yes, this isn't unique. That's pretty much what fan messageboards do by nature. Especially when results and expectations are very misaligned.

I don't know why they would think that. They won 56 games last year, not 66. They lost 4-1 in the WCF after barely eeking out a 2nd round victory over the Clippers(and BTW, Harden wasn't even on the floor when they came back in Game 6). I totally understand the complacency of the 1994-95 Rockets who were coming off a title season. But I was under the impression that these guys came into this year focused and motivated. Didn't they even have their own minicamp out in LA during the summer? Instead, they're looking like a team that thinks it's bound for 25-30 wins and the lottery and is just going through the motions every night.

Ty Lawson needs to come off the bench until he figures it out

Who knows. If they were too into themselves then these two losses did more good than bad.

I think they underestimated the Nuggets.

The Warriors? They get blown out by the Warriors every regular season game now, so that is just more of the same.

Lol @ being too cool. Harden thinks it's cool to lose his man on defense constantly, to not run back, to force up bad shots? Does he think before he talks. Mojo whahahah
