When the Pistons’ time to select arrived, Tyrese Haliburton’s agent gave him a signal, motioning his hand across his neck, to indicate it wouldn’t be his name called. “What is this, they’re not picking me?” Haliburton said, mimicking his agent’s motion. “And then it flashed up, Killian Hayes, and I was like, ‘What!?’ In that moment I was frustrated, but I knew the Kings were my floor. But, still in the moment, I was just angry. I was like, ‘What do you mean? They need a point guard and they’re not picking me?’ So that one definitely felt the most personal.” Source: Detroit Free Press
Besides finding out the Rockets made the top 4, this was my favorite moment of the draft. Utter patheticness, particularly how far the Pistons went to achieve it, should not be rewarded in the draft (unless it's the Rockets). I wouldn't be surprised if the culture on that team is just as bad as the Rockets were the last 2 years of Softie Silas. I also love the Jazz did not benefit from going full tank mode the entire 2nd half of the season. The draft lottery is a great thing!
I believe in Will Hardy, he is after Udoka, Daigneault and Finch, the next young coach that is going to be really good. Utah with Olynyk would have had a much better record. They would eventually get another All Star type of player to play alongside Markkanen........with their plethora of picks.
