He is a terrible basketball player and nothing more than a thug. Yes, I do dislike him.

Eh, I feel completely differently about these things. Rocket fans are not all aligned on rivalries. I don't have any animus against Dallas or Utah or San Antonio. GSW ranks higher than them for me because we were competing with them for playoff positioning all last season. I do have a particular dislike, though, for the Lakers and Thunder.

But, probably what's important is what rivalries the roster feels exists. What's the point of hating the Jazz if the actual players aren't motivated by it? If they're motivated it to stick it to Mark Jackson and Draymond Green, then it's a rivalry even if you don't care about Golden State. I don't know if they'll have any particular motivation against GSW (it seems like a bit of a one-sided rivalry), but it'd make more sense than the likes of Harden and Parsons playing extra hard in Salt Lake City because they take exception to what Karl Malone did to Bostjan Nachbar 10 years ago.

Reporter: "Did you read what Draymond Green said about the Rockets?"

    James Harden: "Who?"

I honestly never heard of him and thought he was a pick we drafted a while ago that I was oblivious to.

Old school fans are aligned with Utah/Mav/Spur rivalries. It's from the championship era, granted, but still, I don't like those teams. Mavs really more from the early '00s (especially after I just moved to DFW, see sig).

I'm still mad at myself for doing the Jeff Hornacek free throw ritual during the '08 playoffs vs Jazz at the Toyata Center pregame games to win Rox swag.

Screw GS and their players and coach. In fact screw you to the whole city and their fans.

    yeah

Yes. I hate the Lakers mostly and Utah is close behind. Phoenix is just pathetic so hard to hate them but I do. From the east I will just say that the Celtics have a special hatred from deep down inside.

Mostly though I hate the Lakers and it has nothing to do with Kobe. I am developing hate for other teams as we go along.

I think, regardless of your definition of the word "rivalry," that the Rockets/Warriors match up was really fun to watch last year. We almost broke the 3 point record on them, we won 3 out of 4 games, and there was a lot of trash talking between the teams including Chandler Parsons and Mark Jackson on twitter. I don't care if we're not located near them (SA) or have playoff history (Jazz/OKC) but I like to see our guys get fired up about games.

It also helps that the Warriors are media darlings and we're usually snubbed on the national front... It's always sweet to beat someone when that's the situation.
