But he's a legit playmaker. Great passer. The White Buffalo.

As much as I loved RA, he's definitely a system coach and likes certain type of players. That is why he always tries to get the same players over and over even when they suck. Brad Miller and Budinger come to mind in Minny.

Seems pretty legit to me. Plays well in transition and plays above the rim. Would be an interesting contrast to Casspi backing up the 3 and 4 spots.
But What do I know.

Williams isn't the prototypical PF or a SF. TJones is also thought to have been a tweener, but seems to be fine in our system next to CP25 and D12. I really think Williams could have contributed in our system, at least more than DMo and GSmith at the moment considering neither of them are stuck at the end of the bench.

He can't shoot the 3, Houston PFs need to know how to shoot the 3.

LOL there's a difference. Tjones is a good tweener, D-Will is a bad tweener.

"Good" Tweener: Can play both SF and PF adequately. Examples would be KG, Dirk, LBJ, Melo

"Bad" Tweener: Too short/Weak for PF, too slow for SF. Examples would be the "Stretch 4" guys like Rashard Lewis, Charlie Villanueva and of course Derrick Williams.

So in this case, Tjones is great for us because he has a SF skillset (can shoot 3's, play in the perimeter+drive in or cut) but he has a PF body so he isn't a defensive liability. Derrick Williams would have contributed to the team offensively but I'm not sure if his defense and rebounding would've helped or harmed us.

Dayum, although I think Rudy is playing the 4 technically. But pretty close.

What is Sacramento doing? They're always active, but all the moves they make seem to be lateral or even downward. Why draft Robinson so high only to give up on him? I know they wanted 2Pat, but now he's gone not even a year later. I wish they would've gone to Seattle. Cali has enough teams as it is.

Don't worry any positives about Derrick will quickly be forgotten once mr. No stat sheets starts playing

I'm afraid you could be right. We're gonna see how good Sac's coach really is. If he gets Gay to quit chucking and yield to the team chemistry of Cousins/Thomas then he will have really done something. And as long as Derrick Williams plays off Cousins/Thomas he'll continue to look really good.

And I think this new Sacramento has got it going on. They did get better with these deals and clearly defined their future as Cousins/Thomas. Thomas is one of the most underrated players in this league. That guy is just a ballsy, ballsy player.

Now you're looking at a lineup of Thomas, McLemore, Gay, Cousins, Williams with Gray as the clear back up to Cousins, McCallum playing behind Thomas, and Thornton and Landry coming off the bench when Landry gets healthy. That's a nice young team right there. They're gonna give a lot of teams trouble this year as long as they stay healthy. They key will be can they get Gay to accept his role as the 3rd/4th option. Yeah, I know he's getting paid like a superstar. But he isn't a superstar. However if they can get him to spot up for open 3-balls and then go to the rim for some dunks from Thomas then he could become a viable player for them.
