Mentioned this in another thread, couldn't agree more. Of course Rose is damaged goods. But if Chicago wants to dump him that bad and we get a pick out of it, I don't see any negative of a 1 year Rose experiment followed by enormous cap room in one of the richest free agency classes ever.
Would love to bring him in on a 1 year contract, but he has the potential to disrupt and he's been very stubborn with organizations. I understand why he does those things and I don't begrudge him the right to treat this business like a business just like his bosses do, but I just don't want it on our team. If it cost nothing at all and we struck out on other options, I would certainly consider something like Rose for Brewer and our 2 2nd round picks. They get to shave 13m off this summer and get a couple of picks.
You guys who want him, are crazy. Rose next to Harden would be an absolute disaster. And with his whining and complaining now that it's his contract season it will be a disaster in the lockeroom as well.
I don't want Rose for the team. But if we're going to go away from Howard and Howard opts in on us can see the possibility of trading Howard plus possibly another contact fir Rose and an asset. And then if Rondo walks on Sacramento I can see the possibility of peddling Rose to them for another asset.
Nope. Defensively he is near the absolute bottom. Efficiency wise he is near the absolute bottom. Health wise he is near the bottom. He is one of a select group of bad players that get heavy minutes and offensive opportunities that produce empty and inflated statistics. He has essentially a flat WS.... he doesn't go to the line, he doesn't shoot the ball especially well, he doesn't pass the ball especially well and he is a really bad defender.
This would be the worst. Rose needs the ball as much as Harden does, and he and Butler were a horrible combination (-3.8 with the two of them, when 5/10 of their best 2 man lineups featured Butler). That will be as bad or worse with Harden next to him. No. Thanks. Not even for a minimum.
Looks like we found our Steve Nash. Rose would be a perfect fit but there's not enough on this roster to get him
With his injury problems of late, I bet they'd be happy to get just a bit more than taking his salary off the books.
He cares more about walking normal after his career more, and has his brother is his manager who is even dumber.
Rose should go to the Spurs and be the Tony Parker role. Let Parker come off the bench. TP never needed to be a 3pt shooter. Rose doesn't either.
I personally would welcome DRose with open arms and like mentioned, D'Antoni could probably get him back to superstar level. Did y'all know DRose increased his vertical after the injuries? So maybe he's not as fast and probably mentally doesn't allow himself to play full speed and come to a full stop so fast anymore, but he can jump even better than back then. "I think I jump higher. I think coming into the league I was at 37 [inches vertical jump] and they tested my vertical at [a training facility], I'm probably at like a 42 [inches], so I'm jumping a little bit higher."

But I wouldn't do it if I was looking to win now. Would rather use the money towards a few solid role/bench players and/or a solid starter.
Rose + NY press = match made in heaven. An endless source of comedy is about to begin if that happens. But I hope it doesn't. Rose remaining in Chicago can ensure that GarPax stay for longer and they destroy that awful franchise even more. Esp if Rose has some sort of contract year and they give him another max. That would be my dream.
Rose had strong improvement on offense after the All Star break. Much more efficient, finally started to look like D Rose of old. His defense is really bad though. He's NOT some Steve Nash where his offense overcomes his defense. He's a net-negative player still. Who'da thought Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic would be MUCH better than Rose.
