Guys, I read around here that Rose is going to be good. But this series (BOS-CHI) left me unconvinced. He can't shoot and turns the ball over a lot. Athletic maybe, but easily stopped. What say you?
He was the Rookie of the Year, and he had one of the best NBA playoff debuts in the history of the NBA, probably THE BEST. He has been struggling recently though, I think you might be confused just because of this one game. He's the future of the Bulls though. So Yes, He's pretty good. Future All-star for sure.
He needs to work on his jump shot. Celtics were giving him that shot all series and he was not taking it. If he never gets a jump shot, he will be looking at a Jason Kidd like career, which is pretty good, but nevertheless a ringless one.
dude he's a stud expect he's turnover prone (expected) you can't expect him to be perfect, he's only going to get better. He's a good free-throw shooter, he can finish although he doesn't know how to pick up fouls on the opposition (watching Chris Paul) might help him. He's their future.
jason kidd never had the same ability to get to the rim as rose, which is not to discount kidd, no one had his court vision back in the days.
Rondo pretty much averaged a triple-double in this series... and outscored Rose... He has to improve on defense.
everyone had crazy stats, so far big baby is outscoring Yao is the playoffs doesn't mean he's a better player but then again you know never know with casual fans
I didn't say he was better in my post... just that he averaged nearly a triple-double. But now that you mention it... Rondo is better than Rose at this point... a lot better. Rose has more upside, and will be better eventually... maybe by next year. we'll see how he develops.
A rookie PG in the NBA playoffs is like a rookie QB in the NFL playoffs. You expect nothing. Whatever Rose can provide is a positive. So you take what he has provided... thats a whole hell of a lot. He is going to be special. Maybe better than Paul/Williams.
Are you being serious? Look at the team around them and look at how they perform in crunch time. Rondo picks up a bunch of useless stats, what he does for his team is NOTHING compared to Rose. Rose is on a team of pretty bad players and Rondo is on a team that has a hell of a good defensive coach as well as 2 superstars who command double teams. Who exactly on the bulls commands double teams? Oh thats right Rose does.. I swear looking at stats tell you NOTHING about the player. Look at Yao and Dwight, who would you rather have, you'd probably say Dwight like all those ESPN "experts," but I'd take Yao in a second. Dwight RARELY gets double teamed, Yao forces double team every time he touches and sometimes when he doesn't touch the ball + Yao can end a game. These things don't show up on box scores.
I would take Yao over Howard any day. You are acting like I dissed Rose or something. Rondo is not a scrub... Rondo being better than Rose doesn't mean Rose is a bad player. Like I said before, Rose will be better than Rondo in time, but he isn't there yet. Right now, Rondo is a much better defender... he runs his team better... and he rebounds like crazy for a guard. Rose is great for a rookie... but only for a rookie. If he was a 3rd-4th year player, he wouldn't be nearly as impressive to people.
