Utah, unlike Denver, did a very good job keeping a lid on negotiations. But, I don't know if it worked for them since I don't see them winning this trade. They're gambling on a guy in Favors who isn't looking to be worth the gamble.

As for Sloan, maybe the reason he walked was because management told him they were going to trade Williams and he said screw it, he wasn't going to go through another rebuild.

Unfortunately, the Rockets' own collapse losing Yao and McGrady are part of that trend.

In case you didn't notice....we don't have a star on the level of a Deron or Melo. How exactly were we going to acquire this stuff if we didn't have enough to give in the first place?

He might not be the "ticket getter" Melo is but the Nets are better off with Deron.

With the Nets and their magnificent glut of assets out of the way, we now might be the most interesting team to negociate a blockbuster deal with, I think Morey's job got a little less harder with this deal.

I wonder if this possibly makes Al Jefferson available.

if i was a player and i am seeing how aggressive the nets are, i will keep my mind open about staying there.

if deron leaves, then yea, it's bad. but he will be the face of a rising nets franchise moving to brooklyn soon. we will see what happens.

but deron is a much overall better player than melo. now NY should have gone after him if they knew utah was trading him.

    deron + amare > melo + amare

I wonder what that means for the rest of the Jazz's roster. I could imagine that they would want to package in and get a couple more picks, young player, etc.

    Do we care, though?

I realize we badly need help at the five but 17 PPG on 15 shots isn't exactly breathtaking.

good coup by the Nets, may be even better than Melo? Either way, its a great deal, maybe for both teams. Utah is smart, they saw the lining on the wall, and instead of going through with what Denver did next year, they dealt D. Wil now. Great move by both teams imo.

    It's not a criticism, it's a normal reaction

I trust in Morey and I bashed him just once (Ariza signing). It's not his fault but it's quite nasty for us

The last guy without a prom date after all the hot girls have already hooked up may be the best of what's left, but he's still left jerking it on prom night.

Come on dude. We don't have a young potential stud like Favors and I'm sure Utah didn't want to send him to the West, and more specifically...us.
