Turrible, just turrible. Derek Fisher?!? Are you f'n kidding me? I dislike him with a passion as any Rockets' fan should. What kills me the most is that he acts like he's such a class individual, but he's bona fide dirty player. Just the thought of him finishing this season and exercising his player option for next season on this team disgusts me. Thanks Morey and Le$...You guys are the best!
I really hope we cut him, and the trade was just for a first round pick. I would have done J-Hill for that first-rounder straight up. But to see Fisher in a Rockets uniform...not worth it.
I disagree, the draft pick was well worth it. We still should buy him out. We need more of these short term contract babysitting trades to rake in additional 1st rounders. I've been a critic, but Morey's strength is the draft.
in general, I would be more upset about the 07 series with the Jazz than the hit on Scola, that being said I have blocked out 07 and 08 completely so I'm not too emotional about this.
I'm away in Australia now and knew I could come here to find people that are just as angry as I am. I can't stand this guy and I can't believe we stooped so low to get him. I'm glad I can't watch games here because I don't ever want to see him in a Rockets jersey. I'm thankful for this site to find others who share my sentiment. But I'm still angry.
i hope we put him in his place. riding the bench as a 3rd stringer. he can replace Flynn. am i going to see more Lakers Fisher jerseys on tv now?
I'm having a hard time keeping my breakfast down this morning. This is the equivalent of Lenny Dykstra, Steve Garvey, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Franco Harris and Terry Bradshaw all moving to Houston and playing for Bud Adams while being coached by Jerry Sloan.
The organization wants to make the playoffs... the organization also understands the first thing most fans thought of when the name Derek Fisher was associated with "Rocket's player," was the episode (punk-like cheap shot on Scola). Most of us fans think it would be awkward, at the least, to have him playing with Scola, and never having apologized, even. If fans feel that way, the organization would be pretty thick to ignore those feelings -- they would be pretty thick to not have them themselves.
Derek Fisher's buyout To my understanding, we are paying Derek Fisher about $640k through that buyout last year in a trade. Why couldn't we just send him to the d-league or something? He didn't want to play for us, but why let him play for someone else? Why not penalize him for swing such a douche? I'm sure there is an easy answer, I just don't know it.
You can't send a veteran to the D-League without their approval. http://www.nba.com/dleague/santacruz/dleague_faqs.html
