fisher is #1 most hated because his deuchebaggery on scola AND he was a Jazz member. that being said, i'll say that he does bring (pseudo)toughness to a team that lacks it. he is also notorious for coming up big in crucial moments. still hate the player.
I don't need to defend ZBoy, he is well respected enough on this board. Swyyyguy, your basically saying we should welcome Derrick Fisher. The rest of the board is saying that, having certain players are not worth having on this team regardless of what they can or cannot contribute because what they can contribute is not worth giving up our pride or self respect. Players like Tracy McGrady and Scottie Pippen who have disrespected the team and the city of Houston. It is the same for players like Gary Payton, Karl Malone, and John Stockton who play dirty. Or players that have hurt Rocket players such as Kermit Washington, Jalen Rose and Danny Ainge. And while Derrick Fisher may not be hated as much as Kermit Washington or Scottie Pippen, he is right up there with Karl Malone and Danny Ainge.
No one cares how clutch he was back then. Do you realize that he played for the Lakers? They had no other guard to put out there. I said it before and i will say it agian. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL THEY PLAY HIM OVER DRAGIC OR LOWRY. So his clutchness doesnt matter. We got him to get the pick and to get rid of Hill. Why do you think the Rockets want to buy him out?
I don't have a problem with us getting Fisher. He's our third string PG who will probably see zero minutes when Lowry is healthy. I think this team can use more veterans in the locker room instead of guys like Flynn, Hill, and Thabeet. We got a first round draft pick for taking Fisher so I don't really have a problem with it. If Fisher gets any playing time, I would rather have him out there instead of Flynn.
Kinda of a bleh move. I think when called upon if Lowry goes down again he's an old reliable guy, but he's still a ***** for elbowing Scola. At least we got another first rounder out of it, but WTF does we still have K-Mart??
