Same guys that want to take time and develop young talent, sit here and scream when we are doing exactly that.

What, you don't think there will be growing pains?

The time for growing talent sailed with Harden's first 3-4 years here. The window is closing, we should be cashing in on that with Beverley, Covington, Caboclo, etc. Instead we've continually flipped assets into Brandon Knight, Marquese Chriss, then into nothing. Hart and Clark won't turn into serviceable rotation players in time. If we finish like we look this season, D'Antoni is already gone, we funneled a whole rosters worth of assets into Paul and then Westbrook. The well is dry.

We took the perfect Harden team from 17-18 and never replaced our trio of two-way wings, used our picks to dump salary, deteriorate our bench shooting, and turn Chris Paul into a non-shooter.

Yet somehow we're 21-10, not bobbing on the surface at .500, and with the return of EGo, we'll be able to have fresher legs going into the playoffs.

I'm counting on EGo's comeback to spark a turn around. I want to see this team win 5+ in a row at some point.

While the Warriors dynasty is dead, now the West is three rounds deep. We have shown ability to lose embarrassingly and then bounce back and redeem ourselves. For the playoffs, we're going to have to show a bit more consistent effort.

They're inconsistent, but that's not the prob. Teamwise our interior is.... undersized frontcourts with rebounding and defensive probs at times, and no real post-presence, so why wouldn't an opponent gamble on perimeter double-teaming on Harden? Capela can be great, but hes not consistently so.... and cant count on Chandler or Hartenstein, and Tucker cannot do everything. Sigh. We are a dangerously good team, but we're not great, and every year we try something new and stay in about the same place.

We will win 55 games or so, and get to the 2nd or 3rd round losing to an opponent that makes less mistakes and hits more shots. If we can turn the ball over less, rebound, or defend then we always have a shot because our weirdo offense almost always generates more than enough total points to win.

Unfortunately, when we're bad we do all of those things above poorly AND miss our shots, leading to 1 quarter that damns our game.

Coaching (smarts, energy, adjustments) and interior depth. We're probably not THAT far from great, but man if that Warriors game didnt set our current season in perspective.

Glad Houston beat Brooklyn but House 8 points 3-12 shooting and McLemore 3 points 1-7 shooting. We need them to shoot better. We need consistency and that's just one part of their game.

Your sample size is also 1 game.

I think both have been playing well since the bubble, but don’t jinx us off one solid game haha.

One game. Which is why I said “your sample size is also one game”.

Resurrecting an 8 month old knee jerk thread for another one game opinion makes no sense to me.

Honestly a 2018 Gordon is all we are missing atm

He's the difference between being a good team that gives contenders issues and a contender.

Our bench is a strength! It also helps when Harden is flawless. He has achieved Wise Hakeem status. He has command aura, and his troops rally around him accordingly.

Both players have improved. I expect consistency going forward starting with game 2. Harden's leadership is one of the most underrated things right now. As long as both these players stay confident I see both of them being a positive impact at this point.
