Half the thread is Democrats saying he should resign TRIBAL DEMOCRATS WON'T POLICE THEIR OWN!!! Franken requests ethics investigation of himself DEMOCRATS DON'T CARE ABOUT ALLEGATIONS IF THEIR GUY IS LIKABLE!!! Numerous accusations against Trump, including sworn testimony from his wife that he raped her, and Trump himself admitting to sexual assault I DON'T FOLLOW TRUMP AT ALL, BUT I'M WILLING TO LISTEN TO CREDIBLE STORIES, HURR DURR HE USED THE WORD "LET"!!! Polls showing 37% of Evangelicals more likely to vote for Roy Moore DEMOCRATS WILL ELECT ANYONE AS LONG AS HE'S ON THEIR SIDE!!!
Franken should resign. Trump should resign. Moore should resign and should have been put in jail years ago /thread (in before libs are accused of being partisan hacks by suggesting Franken should resign)
LMAO.... When "hover hands" over boobs posing for a picture is as bad as "pinching" or "grabbing" breasts and butts ala Moore.
Watching the trumpazoids slobber all over themselves at the chance to change the narrative for a day or two is pretty funny.
What will actually happen: Franken will resign. Trump won't resign. Moore will be elected to the Senate. Libs will be accused of being partisan hacks who don't police their own.
Imagine an audio of Franken saying he grabs women by the p***y because he can, came out. He would have resigned the same day. Imagine Trump took a picture of doing hoverhands. Sarah Huckabee Sanders: Oh Trump, he was just joking.
Please tell me you can't be serious. No credible allegations? You do realize that you have the broadest research tool at your fingertips, right? Exactly how were these accusations against Trump any less credible than those against Moore? I don't give a **** if it's Bill Clinton or Donald Trump, Al Franken or Roy Moore, etc. Dem or Repub makes zero difference. You **** up, you **** up, period. That being said, Franken's is truly damning b/c there's an actual picture. He should do the right thing and resign.
lol bobby is so in over his head on this one. It's really funny to watch. Bobby, when did you become such a Trump apologist? Even in threads not about him you come to his defense, weren't you completely against him before the election? And please never say that you don't like either party. Please have some respect for the people of this board. If there was a scale that tracked which way you leaned on each argument on this forum, the right side of that scale would be nearing the earth's core by now.
Oh, of course. The predicament they are in is that Trump is at the top of the Republican totem pole. To admit that he has sexually assaulted women would be almost a complete condemnation of the Republican party (due to the fact that he is their figurehead). I would say the same if Bill Clinton were President. We can condemn a Franken, or Weinstein, etc. And they can even go so far as to condemn a Moore. But Trump? That would be the ultimate black mark on Republicans. Not excusing them, but that's exactly why they're going to cling to everything possible to ensure that he is seen as not guilty. "They're all lying," "fake news," etc. They will go to any length possible to defend him- and that's why.
The Democrats in this thread are hilarious. Their reaction - yeah....but Trump! No smoking gun for Trump (only allegations) - there certainly is one for Franken...
I hate the false equivalency crap too. What Franken did was wrong. What Moore did is so next level wrong, it's like the difference between James Harden and Bobby Brown. Sure, they are both pro basketball players...but there are levels to this ****.
I'm willing to bet that Franken eventually resigns. The Democrats will quickly give up on him. Plus there's no partisan pressure to keep him around. Minnesota has a Democratic governor who gets to appoint Franken's replacement.
He holds the most powerful position on the planet and has far worse allegations against him. If a senator should resign, the ****ing PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES should also. It's very simple logic. Whatboutisms usually refers to brushing aside a issue for a less important issue. If we are to condemn senators and Hollywood actors for their sexual misconduct, then how about the god damn President? Otherwise, anything people say about this issue yet still ignore the man holding the most powerful position on the planet is doing it EXPLICITLY for partisan reasons. If you can lambasted and ask for the resignation if a senator for sexual misconduct, you rationally should be able to do so for the president.
As long as we have a president with serious sexual assault allegations floating around him, anytime this sort of thing comes up, our president will also come up. We can't talk about sexual assault and just pretend that the president also doesn't have a cloud over him. More than singling out any one individual, I think we're learning that sexual assault is just an inherent problem that we're only now coming to terms with. But when the person at the very top has a history of misogyny and his own questionable behavior, then he'll keep coming up.
