I truly hope this isn't true and the RMN has their story wrong. This is the last thing that needs to happen right now.
I was just reading an article saying McCain may announce his Veep choice on Thursday to deflect attention. Didn't want to start a thread over pure speculation like this but was just throwing this out there.
I can't believe Ted K. got out there and spoke -- nice way to start the convention. Michelle Obama sounds nervous.
Yeah, he was inspiring. Not in agreement w/everything he said, but it was moving nonetheless to see him persevere like that. I agree... she's being very careful... but it's good thus far.
yeah, I saw that. They didnt specify on the ticker at the bottom, and I guess I forgot that Jr was politically active. my point remains...it doesnt really matter much...just like most of the people that have been droning in the background since this started at 4.
IROC it, I know you don't love the demo ticket, but it is cool of you to check it out and say positive things in this thread. I mean, I support the ticket, but I'm not even watching it. (Not home from work)
I just caught Michelle Obama's speech. It was decent but I didn't think anything special. It struck me as somewhat formulaic. I liked the Obama kid though blurting out during Barack Obama's satellite feed. I was starting to do the over how staged that bit felt until his daughter started butting in. It gave a great note of levity to something that felt really hokey.
The satellite feed was...awkward. Why did the little girl have the mic? Did Barack forget what city he was in?
The coolest thing is her brother is the head men's basketball coach at Oregon State. Her story is the American dream.
Dude... I have a six year old daughter in 1st grade (started today)... And that part literally made me choke up. It humanized Barack in a way only the common ties of fatherhood can. B-Bob - Thanks... I enjoy weighing both sides... I like to hear from their own mouths... Most of what goes on in here is far from reality anyhow. I know these conventions are designed to put the best foot forward for America to see, but I'm interested in these real moments like tonight... I know if a man has young kids, he's got a little extra personal incentive to look after my country. So, as I always am before the conventions... I'm still undecided "officially," though honestly I've always leaned to the right. On a lot of issues, I'm sold on McCain. Perhaps I can be convinced that Barack has more positives by weeks end... Who knows? I came this close -----> { } Clinton {x} Bush <------ to voting Democrat before (in '92)... I've never had an outright hatred for Dems like some loonies on here... My father voted Carter... I've voted for Libertarians in state and local races... I'm glad to be alive during this election cycle.
