Hard to control this stuff without a deterrent. However, that same argument - that collusion can't be proven - works for owners. If 8 out of 10 who demand a trade end up in a destination they don't want, players will think twice about this. They will just have to wait till their contract is done to walk to the team they want. Yes, that is better for a team like the Pelicans, because it gives them 1 more year. If they are terrible at management, they lose 1 year later. It's fair.

What the Pelicans have on Davis is that Lebron will not be a marquee player when Davis' contract is done, and Davis can't waste 1.5 years of prime basketball tarnishing his legacy by sulking on some other team. What's going to end up happening is the Pelicans get a great haul from the Lakers, or Davis lies to Team X saying he will extend with them only to make up a story about how they mishandled an injury and once again demand a trade.

Either way it's messy. If Davis intends only to join the Lakers, he has risked something where Lebron has risked nothing. I don't really believe in morality in sports - this is victimless peaceful warfare - so AFAIC I hope the owner does not send him to the Lakers and we sweep Lebron & co in the playoffs. Oh and yes, I would absolutely condone us tampering/colluding to get Davis if we had a chance in hell.

That's not capitalism, that's cronyism. Happens with socialism too.

I don't really care about this stuff. I hope Harden and Chris Paul are tampering with some upcoming star player.

I trust Adam Silver to show some leadership and make the step back illegal

Lebron plans to become an nba owner when he retires.
It will be interesting to see what goes on then.

While its likely and almost a certainty Lebron has tampered to the extent he's been covertly discussing with AD future plans and/or doing so, but not directly with AD but through his proxy, Rich Paul...

    it's not proven.

I don't understand why AD got fined, but Thon Maker, or Marquees Chriss don't. They've publicly asked for trades in the last week(s).

Its also not just that he requested a trade, its made clear to other teams that "If you trade for me It'll be a rental"---which is bullshit. It weakens and hurts the pels

    Lol. Klutch Sports.

Was Klutch Zportz taken? Sounds like the name of an agency created by a 13 year old on 2K.

We have all been sold (read: force fed) the idea that LeBron is at least the second GOAT to play the game. But, this guy has required so many hand-picked super teams to succeed, that it is getting tiresome. (Yes, he was awesome in one series against GS.) I don't think this latest move, if successful, will do much for his legacy.

Spends his entire career in the East and then "needs" the Brow to compete in the West.

He def runs the well dry every place he goes.

He left Miami is Ruins with all his nonsense that money he forces his GMs give out to mediocre talent at best. Since Miami he’s had no long term outlook only the here and now which I do get to and extent but still. Teams are so scared he bolt bit history has clearly shown he’ll do that anyway.

Look I think Lebron is great and possibly the most talented player off alltime but he has gone the east route the whole damn time.

Let’s be honest when he returned to Cleveland he wasn’t planning on Steve kerr turning the warriors into a juggernaut. He claims he came back for the “land” but he came back cause they had money to spend and assets like kyrie and Wiggins in place. He clearly knew they gave him the best chance to win more rings in the the garbage east.

Same thing with LA they had young assets and room for another max contract. He’s smart he’s knows what he’s doing.

Houston was not an options because one it’s james Hardens team. Joining him is different then joining kyrie or even wade. Getting AD is not harden. Harden wins mvp and more games against the dubs then he can. And Morey doesn’t Bend for players and wouldn’t get rid of MDA for Lebron if he had issues with him. Bottem line is we wouldn’t bend and cater to Lebron.

But it bothers me because he just alwsys gets things to fall in place for him. But at the same time I’m happy because he’s old he’s not as good as he once was even though the numbers are still great imo him and AD are not contenders. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m. If buying this one two punch as a antidote to beating GS. Houston is the only team that has a chance you gotta have shooting and playmakers AD is neither.

I hope they get AD just so we can see the fail at the ultimate goal.

I agree and its that type of thing that affects him laughably ever challenging Micheal to be the GOAT

Been telling you this about Lebron for YEARS. A huge asterisk should go next to his name when he retires. He's a entitled DIVA & I honestly think his recent injury was staged so he wouldn't take too much heat for the team sucking. When the Lakers miss the postseason the excuse will be "well Lebron did miss all those games in the season".

NBA needs to come down a lot harder on players and agents speaking to the media in order to strongarm their way to a desired location, whereby handicapping the original team from receiving maximum trade value. $50k fine is basically nothing... at that point why not just fine him $1.

If a player wants to lose $80 mil for signing in free agency, then fine. Do it in the offseason when you're a free agent. But announcing that you won't sign anywhere BUT a certain team basically screwed the Pelicans over.

Honestly though...what can they really do about it?

Tell players not to talk and hang out with other players?

At the end of the day, if a friend convinces you to do something, then that's still on you. AD isn't innocent in all of this. He's a grown man that makes his own grown decisions. He doesn't want to be there any more.

I have decided to have little sympathy for the Pelicans. He's been there for 7 years and what have they done for him? Should he wait 7 more years?

What it comes down to is the Lakers got their ____ together. They have a plan a few years back and are pursuing that plan. The Pelicans _______ around and hoped that AD would be loyal to do....what exactly?

Fact is, AD has complete legitimate reasons to want out and legitimate reasons to want to go to the Lakers. Personally, I think he's picking the wrong team because father time is undefeated and Lebron is old. He plays a sport that demands athleticism and I think we are already seeing his decline and the Lakers getting AD means them trading their entire depth away...Pels will demand Kuzma and Ball and Zubac and probably let them keep Ingram because no one wants him. I think in 2-3 years we are going to see a dramatic drop in Lebron's performance because...he's 34. This isn't Tom Brady playing a position where he can literally stand in one spot and throw balls...he has to run and jump and give his all...how many guys are top 5 superstars 35+

Lebron will never be the greatest because he has been granted permission to form teams to his liking and still couldn’t get close to MJ, Kareem and Russell territory.

NBA is corrupted like never before, I stopped getting emotionally invested since this year and loving it. Don’t even bother to watch anything outside of the occasional Rockets highlights.
