Did you watch the videos in the OP? I don't know about corrupt and racist, but "stupid" and "kooky" MOST DEFINITELY describe Palin, O'Donnell, and the rest of their teabagging "keep your socialism hands off my Medicare!!!!" crowd.
The reason you are unable to acknowledge the veracity of the portrayal as "stupid, corrupt, racist, and cooky" is likely explained and validated within your own quoted post.
more like, "lets be open to new ideas." You don't really mean crazy (as in insane) anyway. You mean extreme and drastically different from the status quo. "Crazy" depends entirely on your point of view.
I'll give you some of these people aren't the deepest or careful thinkers, but the dems have plenty of those as well.
You forgot that he also once said that waiters earn up $100,000 a year in tips so we should reconsider the minimum wage. The sad thing though is that Emmer is actually fairly rational and reasonable when compared to some in the MN Republican party, such as Michelle Bachmann and Tim Sutton (MN Republican Chair who recently said that there is special place in hell for Republicans who supported the IP candidate.)
This isn't just any GOP candidate and speaking for myself I would say the same thing about a Democrat, Independent, Green or etc.. that said the same cooky things.
I'm extremely skeptical that a pro life candidate will win that election. I really don't see Democrats losing that seat.
Its the Southern Strategy. The party of Federalism and anti-slavery has become a party "small government" and idiots. Its crazy how the two parties have flip flopped positions through the years. Lincoln and Jefferson would both be appalled by their parties platforms.
I think one could cynically guess that Republican anti-slavery had as much to do with industrialists getting cheap non-union labor up North as it did human rights: which in any case has always had a religious fundamentalist streak. And the Democrats proper were founded by Andy Jackson, who was really just a cripplingly racist anti-banking libertarian (who should still be credited for revolutionizing presidential politics). I don't know if Jefferson governed the same way he campaigned.
Senator McCain's daughter calls O'Donnell a "nut job" WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Senator John McCain's daughter said on Sunday that Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell of Delaware, a Tea Party favorite, is "seen as a nut job." "Christine O'Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office," Meghan McCain said of her father's fellow Republican, who recently ran an ad declaring, "I'm not a witch." Appearing on ABC's "This Week," McCain said O'Donnell "has no real history, no real success in any kind of business." "And what that sends to my generation is (the message that) one day, you can just wake up and run for Senate, no matter how lack of experience you have," said McCain, 26, author of the new book, "Dirty Sexy Politics." O'Donnell stunned the Republican establishment in September when she defeated Mike Castle, a former two-term governor and longtime member of the U.S. House of Representatives, to win the Republican U.S. Senate nomination from Delaware. O'Donnell prevailed with the help of the conservative Tea Party movement and Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor who was John McCain's running mate in the 2008 White House race. Meghan McCain, who became known for her online chronicle of daily life on her father's failed presidential campaign, ripped into O'Donnell's candidacy. "It scares me for a lot of reasons, and I just know in my group of friends, it just turns people off, because she's seen as a nut job," McCain said. O'Donnell has been the beneficiary of an anti-Washington environment fanned by the Tea Party and voter anger about weak U.S. economy. John McCain swung to the right on a number of issues this year to beat back a conservative challenger in his re-election bid in Arizona. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101017/pl_nm/us_usa_election_mccain It was your father who unleashed Pandora's idiot box upon us and now the lunatics are loose in the aslyum supporting people like O'Donnell and Angle.
