DeAndre Jordan does the things Blake Griffin can't do, which is to block shots and play defense. While I'm not the biggest fan of "Lob City", because it’s basically 4 on 5 basketball. Since Blake Griffin can't defend worth a lick, the Clippers are typically playing 4 on 5 on defense, and since DeAndre Jordan has no offensive game, the Clippers play 4 on 5 on offence. That type of offensive/defensive duo can work, such as with the Dallas Mavericks, but Dirk offensive game is light years ahead of Blake Griffin who struggles with both his jumper and free throws. The problem with the DJ and Griffin pairing is that they may have too similar offensive deficiencies to ever be truly elite.
