DJ was up to 70% FT this season, he is over 20% higher than his career average this year. He also has not been great defensively. I guess no one on this forum has watched Mavs games?
I think he meant this as a guess. There is no way he knows this already. Knicks are definitely going to try and deal him first and could not possibly have had a buyout convo yet. Not saying it won’t turn out to be true but I don’t think he’s in the know of something.
sign Wes Matthews to the min while you're at it. They don't need to fly to NYC, can just drive to Houston. Package Capela and BK for an actual star, then we have a chance this year.
The Knicks need to tank and Smith, Jr is going to want to ball and DAJ and Matthews will want to play. It will drive them to unwanted wins. Their agents were already told they were not being resigned and I am sure it has already been communicated they are being bought out. It's really no secret. I agree that until it happens it is not certain but I am sure it has been communicated around the league. Morey won't leap before he knows. We need to keep Faried. He value on a 2nd unit is unmatched for his price. He has a couple of elite skill sets that are not defense which is why he is cheap.
He's going to the Knicks. They will buy him out and never play him because they are purposefully tanking and he would make them a better team and maybe add a few wins to their record.
What if DJ unlocks Knight's bb abilities because's Knight has been mentally damaged due to the MONSTER FACIAL DJ did on him?
Can anybody explain to me how any of this is possible? Is phallus gonna buy him out? Edit: WTF, Im late to the party. Dallas got the unicorn.....? Gawdaamn.
There are 18-20 minutes per game backing up Capela. At 18-20 minutes a game, he can be the primary backup C for the Celtics. He is great friends with Durant, but there are few minutes to be had there. He can get more minutes than that from the Hornets, Wizards, Lakers, Kings - all of whom are at least in playoff contention. The dude needs to earn a contract for next season onwards. Looking at it objectively, if he really wants to be home (and he wouldn't have to move his stuff very far from Dallas), I can see it happening. Jordan is significantly better than Faried. I don't think we need a backup C, but at the minimum you can't pass up that kind of upgrade.
True but like Matthews, they cannot traded in tandem and all teams trading are over the cap basically so it comes down to how many roster spots the Knicks have free. With the short time, I doubt that was the plan or they would have made it a 3 way deal The deal was in the works for months. My guess is the Mavs waited until the Knicks other offers flamed out and both teams didn't want to be stuck. On the surface it looks like a stupid deal but I think NY was worried they would be stuck without the expirings and banked everything on Zion and cap space.
