NBA bans upside down headbands.. http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2010/10/nba-bans-upside-down-headbands/
Its a slippery slope. First you allow them to wear the headbands upside down, and eventually players will start wearing their jersey and shorts inside-out. It will be chaos!
These new rules, all of them, are obviously a power gesture by the nba to show whose still in charge after a summer where people thought the inmates were now running the prison.
Yeah, but in my opinion it could backfire by putting a bad taste in the fans' mouths. The technical last night (on Martin? I already forgot) was ridiculous. All it does is give the refs more power to influence games by choosing who to call T's on. Is there a player who routinely wears his headband upside down? I think I've noticed it before, but it's such an overwhelmingly meaningless thing that I guess I didn't commit it to memory.
As much of a power trip as that is, it's nothing compared to the NFL's uniform rules. They are dozens of check points on a uniform in the NFL. Length of jersey if it's hanging out of your pants. Length of towel hanging out of your waistband. How much sock is showing above your shoe. Color of the gloves you are wearing. Ludicrous.
gosh i hate David stern so much. I wish he would just go away.. He helped the league out in the 90's and he has done a good job marketing it to the rest of the world but he just needs to go and get some new blood in there. The wa he protects his precious refs is just ridiculous.. power hungy evil dicatator
Stern was such a smug prick in his interview during the game last night. The guy believes he IS the NBA at this point.
Nothing wrong with the ban. The players look unprofessional and sloppy when they wear the headbands like that.
Why are you guys complaining? Rondo looked like a moron out there. His fashion statement was about as cool as Kriss Kross.
