[rquoter]The Knicks believe Blatt will be a head coach next season — whether in the NBA or overseas. Blatt is expected to be interviewed for the vacancies with the Rockets and Kings, Sacramento being run by former European great Vlade Divac. http://nypost.com/2016/05/01/knicks-still-pondering-david-blatt-but-not-as-rambis-deputy/[/rquoter]
This is great. I would love for the Rockets to hear Blatt's ideas. His offense is all about movement which we sorely lack over the years.
Honestly, Blatt would be my first choice. This is the kind of coach we need, someone who wants to play as a team, passing and moving, spacing the floor. Lebron shot himself in the leg by firing Blatt and have this child coaching him
No, terrible point. Actually, he CAN coach Harden because HE ISN'T Lebron. Lebron was the problem not Blatt. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XOIxRBjsw0s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> NSFW Language - <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CmlXPip1D1Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Blatt offensive strategy was constantly questioned in Cleveland. I live in Cleveland and heard about it first hand from fans and local media. They lacked movement and Kevin Love was often out of position and couldnt get comfortable in his offense. Even with his short comings, people here were surprised he was fired. Once Ty Lue took over, there was a noticeable change in offensive pace, and they were able to get Kevin Love in the spots where he could be most successful. IMO - if he cant get Lebron to buy in, i have a hard time believing that Harden would buy in.
Kevin Love wasn't use properly, no one will argue that. But Blatt was compromised!!! Lebron didn't let Blatt coach at all!!! He openly disrespected him in front of the team. Lebron was the unofficial HC so if the spacing and movement was bad that's on Lebron as the unofficial HC. Watch Blatt's Euro teams and you see tons of movement. He went to Princeton for god sakes!!!
Blatt is a real coach, that's why he coached at high levels in Europe, but i'm not sure he can work in this nba...especially in some teams.
This in my opinion would be the guy that makes things interesting. Blatt has been coaching basketball non-stop for the last 23 years. He's coached teams to multiple championships all over the world so he knows how to win. People need to understand just how much of a coach killer Lebron is. Lebron got Paul Silas fired after just one and a half seasons. Just look at his track record of coaches, he even tried to get Spolestra fired when he was in Miami, when that didn't work he bolted back to Cleveland. Even though Lebron behaved like a jackass, the team went to the nba finals last year and was number one in the east when he was fired, he is a good coach and should be given consideration to fix this team.

I'm not sold on Blatt, but definitely think he deserves an interview. I'd almost want Harden in on that interview. The Harden/HC relationship is so important, and Blatt is so reputation-ally damaged in that star/HC relationship dynamic, you better have a good feel for how he'd fit with Harden if you are going to hire him.
Rockets will conduct due diligence but I don't think he has a realistic shot here. I do think they might try to convince him to become part of the eventual staff, something he would almost surely decline.
Harden needs to sit his ass down somewhere and watch Maccabi Tel Aviv game tape to see what an offense is suppose to look like. I think if Harden is in the interview and Blatt can find his balls, they will have a great relationship. Harden can't be coddled, he doesn't respond well to having his ass kissed, he needs to be pushed, JVG can do it and I believe so can Blatt. Also look at the personnel that we have on this squad, Blatt's offense works to our style of player as opposed to JVG's "grind it out" if we score 90 its a miracle style.
Just fired one coach who the players tuned out...promoted another coach who the players tuned out. SOLUTION: hire yet ANOTHER coach who the players tuned out and had fired despite being in first place at the time.
by your logic we should hire NO coach becase we won't interview any coach that hasn't been fired. it's why they are available of course.
