If Andersen starts playing well (in terms of being a 2-3 million dollar back up center) in a few weeks then we should publicly flog Aussie_Rocket, or at least make fun of his accent.

I'm not sure why we even got him. We could have used those extra millions in cap space after this season

Maybe cuz we're paper thin at the Center position.

Were paying him like 2.5 M. It's not really going to have a adverse effect on our cap.

Congrats to jopatmc for getting it.

And also, you will notice MOST of the Aussie posters all know the truth about Andersen.

He is not going to help the Rockets. Not this year, not any year.

Jeez peeps...if the guy gonna suck...at least give him some time to suck before you bash him. The guy that started this thread should be hired by Rockets since he knows a player is not gonna help the team after one preseason game. Daryl Morey please hire this dude now!
Only thing I know for sure about Anderson is he dances as well as me.

I'm going to pipe up as an Aussie say that he is not going to be useless. His not even worth $2 million. The bloke is a tall center playing against chumps in Australia and has nothing that resembles a post game. Its pathetic.

He didn't play in Australia, he played in Europe. So obviously you have never seen him play, lol.

This thread shows how little some of you know and how much a lot of the GARM loves to jump on a bandwagon, if this thread was 20-30 games in then it would be justified. Scola and Yao did not set the world on fire in their first few years and I am more than happy how they ended up(except for the injuries). Once again I will point out he is paid very little(couple a mil a year I think) so on par with most players on the brink of rotations, yet some of these idiots seem to compare him to Yao like he should be just as effective.

the rockets did the same thing for getting scola, and he can potentially get us 20 and 10 while only jumping two feet in the air.

That would be great. But he's look like Juwan Howard or Mark Blount to me, as far as range goes.

I have seen him play in Europe and he usually takes about 2-3 3's a game. He usually hits them too. It would really free up the lane for our slashers if he did this.

I dunno if thats a good thing...he's gonna get literally about 5 rebounds a game even if he was to play starters' minutes...dont know how thats gonna go down for a 7'0 C

I found some stats about his previous seasons in Europe.

    2008-09 Euroleague- 3PM-A: 21-52

    2008- Regal FC Barcelona- 3PM-A: 30-78

In the Olympics he was 3-6 in 6 games for Australia.

So he shoots a good percentage at least.
