Why do people believe this is a job that any "real coach" would want??

Why do people think he hasn't asked Thibbs already??

Why don't people think about why McHale was hired in the first place??

How ironic you would say that, given your user name. Of course you can.

Capela needs to back dwight not play along side of him. SCOLA would compliment Howard better than Capela.

Morey is as stubborn as a mule. Can't he see that coaching matters??!! If you need an example oh great statistician just take a look at that organization just a hop-skip-and-jump away from the Toyota Center on Cullen Blvd. Last year they were 8-5. This year with pretty much the same group of players but different coaching staff they are 13-1, won the AAC Championship and the Peach Bowl.

Warriors off ball movement, and defensive rotations make us look like we play middle school ball.

If Morey is not willing to hire a REAL coach THIS year, then he should be fired.

I doubt Morey is allowed to pay for a coach this year.

    Les is an overemotional tightwad.
Emotional decision to fire McHale, vieled threats at players.
Scrimps money by letting an assistant do the job.
Will soon order Morey not to pay lux tax, and retool for next year in a way that avoids tax again. Trades will happen between mid Jan and mid Feb.

Maybe Harden should show some respect for himself and not put up with his **** performances? Grown ass man can't motivate himself to play basketball whilst being paid millions.

GS offense is absolutely nothing like our system. They mix up their sets with cutters, backdoor screens & pnr etc..We don't have a multitude of sets we run. They're creative in how they get buckets. Our success rides strictly on whether Harden's on or not. Please don't compare the 2

Based on this year do we even have 1 legitimate good defender anymore? Ariza has dipped a lot as has Dwight. I'm not sure this roster has a chance to be a defensive anything. The only reason I want Thibs is for Harden. He was apart of Team USA that got the MVP out of him and he gave Thibs a lot of credit for his play.

You've said a lot of "right" things recently... By this makes no sense.

This ROSTER isn't winning a ring with Pop as coach. They'd be better, but still behind GSW, Spurs, OKC and Clippers who all have better rosters currently, and of course better systems. The Rockets DID get lucky last year in their playoff match ups - which is fine - in that the Clips have those bench and closing problems. It was a second round team.

And then the roster moves made the team worse... Even if they really shouldn't have.

I'm not saying don't try to improve coaching... BUT one would assume there are a lot more options in the offseason.

Take Tyronne Lue. I could see him being a top option. Defensive minded but ex player who even Lebron really really respects. You aren't hiring that guy right now. Or Messina.

This season is lost. Priority number one needs to be roster. Fix it. Have some momentum as season winds down. Bring in new staff. Roster priorities are obvious - PF, Dwight situation, bench, PG, defense

We need a real coach. Someone who doesn't put up with crap. And the owner needs to make clear that he will back a coach who sits the superstar if the superstar doesn't play defense and doesn't behave like a professional.

Totally disagree but its with the belief that yours and others' perception is way off.

I believe its better for this team to wait for the right coach to accept and integrate their system IN A PROPER WAY than it is to just keep on cutting the heads off of your chickens, and watching the bodies flap around expecting something different like one of the chickens to grow a new head.

No coach.... however great he is.... will NOT be able to walk in on January 2nd and completely overhaul everything about the team.... ESPECIALLY on defense. Defensive schemes almost always need an offseason and training camp to be instilled. You dont just walk in the huddle, draw some lines on a white board, and bam. Its not easy, and a coach even as great as Tom Thibs would look like crap coaching this BS lazy batch of bafoon players.

There is also a very very good chance that when the Rockets were firing McHale they reached out to a few coaches like Thibs, Brooks, etc. and they declined to come in midseason so the Rockets decided to wait until the Summer to get the right coach rather than just hiring another Joe Blow run of the mill Brian Shaw type.

Firing Morey would be stupid anyways, but firing him because he wants THE BIG coaching hire to be ushered in correctly with a proper offseason & training camp is beyond idiotic. Its the right way to let a coach be successful. Making ANOTHER coaching move midseason is doing nothing but proving you are way out of your league and making moves for the sake of making them like these knee jerk fans want just for catharsis for the Rockets making them feel so bad because their team isn't the best of the best.

Morey is still a top 5 GM in this league, and HE IS GOING TO make changes to re-create a winning product. Firing him (especially for something as Stupid as not firing two coaches in one season) would be astronomically dumb.

I don't believe this season is lost, I think you get a guy in now and build the rest of this and next season, why wait?
