    In other news, Dirk Nowitzki tweets before the end of the moratorium how hard the Mavs have worked to get DH back into Dallas....but no fine :)

    "We worked all summer to get DH to Dallas. Welcome back to the Mavs, Devin Harris...."

    The memo sent to league executives addressed Howard specifically, and the contents of the memo were shared with USA TODAY Sports: "Under league rules, such comments are not permitted during the moratorium period. Please be reminded that during the moratorium period, teams are not permitted to announce publicly that they have agreed to terms of player contracts or offer sheets to free agents."

    The Rockets were also fined in June for tampering after a story on Houston's official team web site discussed players who were still under contract with other teams but were expected to be free agents in July.

    Is this the highest fine in league history? (Not counting Artest's suspension without pay/settlement which cost him a lot.)

    The NBA fines you for talking about deals that are done when they're clearly done... Beverley tweets that Howard is a Rocket then takes it down. Then ESPN runs a story on Dwight being 50/50. The NBA is in cahoots with ESPN. This mandatory silence is designed so ESPN can profit.

    Wait, what? Doesn't EVERY team talk about players publically after they secured verbal commitments? I still don't understand what the Rockets did that was different from other teams during this whole process.

    Minnesota was fined $3.5m. I had to look that up. Not sure it's the highest, but probably.

    nice observation...

    Are teams fined that announce their attempts to sign a player have been rebuked? If all the teams that coveted Howard announce that he ain't comin is Morey jus supposed to sit there and smile and say 'no comment'? I assume the player can announce their intent, but the team can't comment... how messed up is that?

    The Rockets should protest. They never said that contract terms were agreed upon. They simply acknowledged the reality of what was reported in the media, and what Howard himself openly said.

    It won't help,it's against the rules of the NBA. I know it is absurd,but that's the way it goes.

    How is it that every single deal, signing and agreement is posted on ESPN and tweeted about and leaked to media outlets nationwide by EVERY team in the NBA that has an agreement/contract ready to sign tomorrow on the 10th, yet the Rockets and Daryl Morey are the only ones that are being fined for breaking free agent rules during the NBA moratorium?

    ESPiN's favorite city(LA FAKERS) lost out for once because they aren't the destination be all, end all of NBA teams anymore, and the team that showed them up and took their prize Free Agent is the only one fined for doing the same thing EVERY team is doing???? Obvious bitter large market city/NBA favorite is obvious. Rockets are laughing while becoming a prime destination for future stars that want to join a super intelligent, up and coming franchise with great players, a great front office, great mentors(Dream) and one ofthe brightest futuresin the league.

    I'm lovin' it. GO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
