I think Matt Thomas basically asked if he had any particular feelings about the schedule and Morey just kind of brushed it off. He compared getting upset about the schedule to getting upset about the weather. Basically he's not upset about it but implied it's not favorable. I imagine he has some statistical measure of the schedule being tougher on the Rockets than other teams.
I'm mostly ticked with the tough schedule at the beginning of the season, when Lawson will likely be suspended. Other than that, we aren't benefiting from the reduction in back-to-backs. Also, we play @LAC and @NOP on the 2nd night of back to backs TWICE during the season.
That's what came to mind for me and sure seems that way. 20 -- TWENTY!! -- back to backs?! Seems every year the Rockets are top 3-5 in the league in back to backs. Love how Feigen tried to downplay it earlier. But but but the other teams are on back to backs too!
I mean, you can't just throw that point out. You can look more closely into how many of the b2b's are home-home, home-away, away-away, or away-home. Even then I don't think you'll see a huge disparity between us and the teams we're facing. And to say we get screwed by playing good teams on national TV on the second half of back to backs is unfair? Guess what, I think our team is pretty dang good, so our opponent is doing the exact same thing.
feigen's a very sorry excuse for a journalist and should really be replaced. sure with only the chronicle in town, the next beat writer would likely be in the rockets front office pocket as well, but at least fans wouldn't have to deal with the curmudgeon arrogant attitude feigen gives off. the only thing worse than his perennial disinfo bs is his complete lack of any passion for the team or franchise. he might as well be covering backgammon. we have at least 30 posters here including you who would enlarge the chronicle's readership severalfold for rockets related stuff.
I'm extremely upset about it as well, that's about half of our season right there (40 of the 82 in B2B sets). That, at least to me, is worse than those 4-games-in-5-nights stretches that were removed.
My only real problem with him is how often he disparages people on Twitter. It seems like all of his RTs are talking down to someone for something they don't know.
So a quarter of the season is on the second night of a b2b .... with all 20 of those games requiring travel .... That's tough.
Also... people keep saying 20 back-to-backs, and I see guys like Fiegan and the like posting that on Twitter... but I have counted a bunch of times and keep coming to 19. I've counted at least 10 times and surely I haven't missed the 20th game all this time??
