I loved how Morey said that if something isn't working, obviously they wont continue to do it.... "luckily we aren't dumb". So... anyone else think Asik & Howard will still be starting tonight?? hmmmm..... http://www.82games.com/1314/1314HOU2.HTM Look, there is merit in exploring this lineup, but its beyond the point where the plug needs to be pulled, and used only when the team is up a substantial amount. The definition of insanity of doing something over and over, and expecting a different result. The Rockets and their staff are insane if they keep thinking the Asik/Howard starting lineup is all the sudden going to become something great.
Wait a minute. Morey said that on Friday? Cuz McHale ran the Twin Towers starting lineup out there again on Saturday and once again, spotted the opposition a double digit lead.
You guys misunderstand "not working." If they feel it isn't working and isn't getting better, no chance to work, of course they'll go away from it. If they feel it is getting better, just needs to work out kinks, they'd be foolish to quit just because it isn't working yet.
Yeah, but it's not getting better. Both the Jazz and Lakers, two ballclubs ranging from lousy-to-mediocre, each went up on the Rockets by 19 points thanks to slow starts from that lineup. And then Saturday night against the Clippers, they fell behind 18-8 and wound up leading by 10 before the end of the quarter AFTER they took out the Twin Towers lineup. At some point, we have to stop pretending this is incidental.
Asked about problems Morey – turnovers, no perimeter defense , not preventing the shots we want prevented, TT line up, Im not too concerned about turnovers due to the system we run, kind of expect that asked about howard and how can mchale stay patient seeing that he still does not have moves morey-Howard is one of league’s best defensive players he is not, goes into saying its like trying to combine certain players together just doesn’t realistically happen that way Asked about TT line upMorey- well we are just trying to figure things out if it doesn’t work obivoulsy we are not going to keep doing it laughs Asked where is scoring going to come from when harden is not or if he had to sit 10games Morey – I think lin is the guy that would have to step up, he is the guy that can come in there and provide a huge lift, he has been playing really well. Howard casspi can also score (no mention of parsons don’t know why) Asked about team defense -Morey we can be top 5-10 defense team but we are not there right now even with the TT out there we still not getting enough rebounds which is kind of random, perimeter guys think bigs are going to get all the rebounds but they have to get in there get some also Asked about blakes 3 Morey– blakes 3 was mistake on defense When asked about howard- morey- Howard is one of league’s best defensive players he is not, goes into saying its like trying to combine certain players together just doesn’t realistically happen that way asked about casspi morey- he has been great, we had like 4 men for PF spot, but he jumped in there got those mins asked about team Morey – have a lot of issues not happy with where we are at (not in terms of record) just how we are executing , but that going to flip on soon if we don’t start playing better
Second time Morey's mentioned Lin as being the next offensive option. I think he's a bigger fan of him than McHale is jmo.
McHale also said this about Lin in another interview before the season started " Found this interesting "Teams will bring lot of attention to JH and JL will be primary guy to step up". I think he's actually a big Lin guy judging from his public comments and reddit/Quora posts.
Well to be fair, Parsons had an awesome year last year. No matter what, the starting 5 will always get the most minutes. Having Lin in the 6th Man role does not give him a lot of time to score if he's also going to be facilitating. So I don't see him scoring a whole lot. So thinking of Lin as a 4th option is understandable. I know he's 4th on the team in scoring but he did start a few games when Beverley was injured. I just can't see him getting 30+ minutes consistently.
Generally, someone's more apt to get some reputation if they don't ask for it. Just food for thought. -
This is frustrating. Lin is not a volume scorer. His number one asset is setting guys up to score. Look at Asik. How many points would Asik score if he wasn't set up - either by his teammates or guys bricking shots? Maybe we can try Parsons off the bench? Parsons is a better scorer than Lin.
Wasn't your fault. Person did said he'll rep for summary. Also, nice summary, too bad Morey's audio got cut off so conveniently on that last question. That was a juicy tidbit that got away. Lol. Smart, Morey!
