I cant lie, thats pretty funny. I start thinking about the guy singing, lmao. Seriously though, if the rox do rebuild, it would make sense to move scola and shane as well as sorry ass barry in trade scenerios and use the mle another way or dont use it at all. I guess its all relative though.

Email sent! :) this is fun.. makes me feel like we have some small part to play in getting him into a Rockets uni.

I seriously love Daryl Morey. The group of people he has surrounded himself with have come up with some great ideas (cause I have to believe they are all as intelligent as he is) and this is just another example of new innovative ways to utilize that intelligence, market the team and impress a potential employee.

How would meeting with Gortat be the end of Yao? Yao's foot will be the end of Yao. Talking to Gortat is exactly what Morey should be doing by talking to the free agent centers...

We may not have to use the full MLE to get him. Orlando will not match anything over 4 mil. They are still trying to look at a way to sign Hedo back. Howard has said he wants him back.... I think gortat would be a good fit here with or without Yao. I can see this as move number 1 for the summer. Then resign artest. Dealing T-Mac may have to wait til summer or trade deadline or may not happen at all and we use the cap space to sign Bosh next summer.

send him emails about fast cars. i read an ESPN article about him loving fast cars, and bragging that he has the fastest one in the nba.

Yes, but signing Gortat and Artest would still put us over the luxury tax limit, wouldn't it?

It does, but Les has made it known he will pay luxury tax. I'm sure if Yao Ming is out for the year then insurance take over a portion of the contract (for this year) and the luxury tax wouldn't hurt his pockets.

Plenty of time to dump salary... trade McGrady for less $ coming back this year. Pay teams to take Brain Cook and/or Barry off our hands.

Maybe if the Rockets can lock him up at a cheap rate, they can flip him to a contender midseason for some younger assets. With Yao and McGrady out of the picture, perhaps the Rockets are hoping Artest can pump up his trade value by February (would they be allowed to trade him then?). I just don't understand the point in bringing in Artest long term if Yao's future with the team is a big question mark.

Why would the team not have a chance to win it all with Ron Artest (a.k.a. the Missing Link between Magic Johnson and Lebron James) and his parter No Stats All Star? Their center may need a fill in for maybe the whole year, but the foundation of the team is still there in the form of the Missing Link and No Stats.
