Hiring: Backup 3 and D wing. Must be able to work for vet min, need to be relatively unknown so the fans will think you are terrible until you prove yourself playing next to Harden and CP3, and they will make you look good. Play hard but don't get hurt and miss the playoffs. Last year was the Prince, this year JE takes a turn. Now about that starting forward spot. Notice I did not say small. If Melo joins it is his to lose but likely he will rotate out with CP3 and be the 2nd wave but still put in starters minutes. For partial MLE, what's not to like?
Luc never had that impact in LA. Our team made him better. Ennis will have the same impact in a much younger frame. He’s more athletic and not scared of being injured. I bet he’s just as impactful as Luc was last year and I’d bet he’ll be more productive in the playoffs lol
Losing one role player who didnt play a ton with a shoulder that pops in and out is the difference between advancing to the WCF and a early exit? Please stop starting these ridiculous threads.
Complete and utter nonsense all of it. Can't even be argued. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mbahalu01.html Luc had essentially the same on-court net rating with LAC in 2017 and a much higher on/off with them. His impact on the Clippers was arguably higher. Ennis has literally never been a good NBA player.
Luc Mbah a Moute was the best wing on the team when healthy. This was a consensus. Ariza did nothing in the playoffs to come close to proing that wrong. Tucker may have but didn't nearly bring the same lift defensively for the entire RS. We lost both and are adding known NBA net negatives.
People are forgetting this was to be expected on some level. The Rockets will be better but they are just 1st or 2nd round fodder at-best. Logically speaking, the Rockets didn't just lose 3-D guys, they replaced them with the worst players in the NBA. It's a MASSIVE difference. Think of it like this. If you could score Ariza and Luc in terms of value by how many points they add per 100 possessions, you could go +1.5 for Ariza and +2 for Luc. MCW is a -4 and Carmelo Anthony is probably a -3. Green was always a slight, but clear negative at -1 and he gets more minutes now. This is a massive 5 - 5.5 point difference. An NBA MVP is going to be a 5 or 6 point difference guy. So losing replacing Ariza, Nene, and Luc with trash is truly like losing an MVP. Specifically like a Gobert or Draymond DPOY type player. To go for 70+ wins level to a .500 team is astounding and shows how offense DOES matter only as much as defense, and no more.
