He's costing himself a lot of money every day he's in the G-League. Not just because of the lower daily pay, but because he's not getting exposure playing alongside the frontrunner for MVP. He might miss a nationally televised game this Saturday night against LeBron and the Lakers.
Oh boy, his agent has really gotten to him I see. I agree with others here. He's starting on a winning team, a team that could make a playoff run. He won't get that anywhere else. He gets that here and he's playing well. He should be trying to lock down that starting spot for good and not let his agent talk. This is going to be Dmo all over again isn't it? Neither side wins except the player always loses because the Rockets will exist no matter what, the Rockets won't get waived.
He and his agent are taking unnecessary risk. Harden could have easily helped him get paid like he did Portions, Beverly, Ariza. Now he gotta earn in the G-League ha!
I don’t get why the offer is so cheap. What if Paul contract starts at 30 million? Both sides are losers. Tilman is a cheapo.
not disagreeing with that aspect... but it appears there were multiple angles morey was working... i mean they had to move somebody to even have space to potentially sign House... The trade enables the Rockets to cut their projected luxury tax payment from $16.3M to $13.7M, tweets ESPN’s Bobby Marks. It also gives Houston a $1.2M trade exception. The Rockets open a roster spot that may eventually go to Danuel House, who has won a spot in the starting lineup and is approaching the 45-day NBA limit on his two-way contract. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/rockets-trade-michael-carter-williams-to-bulls/ar-BBRVBkY
Paul contract start already. No can go backwards. House only loser. Morey get better replacement. Everyone happy. Yule C.
Honestly it sucks but it’s hard not to agree with both sides. It’s his right to decline whatever offer they presented. It’s not like a Nerlens Noel deal where he’s passing on $70 million; they offered him something that is probably around a couple million, and he believes he’s good enough to play in the NBA so he’ll roll the dice on himself knowing he can get that eventually anyway, but hope for more. Morey is right because he’s just a product of circumstance, and he’s not irreplaceable. He needed them way more than they needed him, he doesn’t believe that should change.
the other side of this coin is that harden cannot be happy. dude is busting his ass like no player ever to help make up for morey's *** ups and tilman's penny pinching, and they can't even keep the one guy who's had his back in games, been practicing with him 1on1 between games, and is actually healthy
Thank you for your service Mr House. Please consider our offer in the good faith it was made. Our goal is to win the championship so... Can we trade him? If so how much salary for matching? Sign and Trade? We need help —> if it’s not him then maybe he can lead us to the next him or help in another position. Just don’t let him rot use him as an asset while we can. Random thought The Kings need wing help and we need a big which they are not resigning.
I mean, I get where he and his agent are coming from. He'll be 26 in June. This may be his only real shot at a big contract. If he takes the Rockets' 3-year offer, he's locked up til he's 29. And sure, if he continues to perform well and becomes a solid NBA player on a perennial playoff team, his stock will rise. But things could go south really quickly. He could get injured. He could get supplanted in the rotation by someone better(look at how the Rockets have gone through small forwards this season). Or he could simply find himself in free agency in a summer when there isn't much money to go around for whatever reason(kinda like how Capela got screwed last summer). It's a gamble. And it really could blow up in his face. If Ennis, Clark, and Gordon hold down the fort and if God forbid, a better wing player becomes available via trade or buyout, he could wind up a journeyman the rest of his career.
