    1. We need Tucker to have the energy to help defend positions 1-5 as needed.
2, Anderson is extremely useful so unless this was in the closing minutes where D is needed, it would be a poor idea.

Ryan Anderson's extra year on his contract doesn't play the games.

I know Anderson sucked in the playoffs, but the Rockets were a substantially better team with him on the floor for most of last year, sh-t rebounding and all.

Worth a try. Anderson is basically Matt Bullard with a sneer.

How about we do this crazy thing and like pick starters based on the best lineup?

Hate Ryan all you want cause he is richer than a lot of people, the fact remains he was the 2nd biggest factor in having one of the best offenses of all time. His On/off net rating was the teams best last year at +5.4

Shocker, in the first preseason game he was the team best again in plus/minus.

For those of you at home lost: that means the rockets where 5.4points better per 100 possessions with him on the court rather than him off he court. (That includes his horrible defense and ineptitude at everything else!)

His spacing and shooting, really is that important to our offense.

But by all means, let's attack the very good player he is because of the money he makes

Having anderson out there, he takes a defender like draymond away from the basket. Didnt he go off against the warriors last year?

Nah, only the guys who actually dressed out. Daywalker is right though, I left Scottie Quitten out and he's probably number one overall.

Anderson solidified his spot in the late 90's at number 2 behind Pippen. Shandon Anderson that is. Don't forget David Anderson, also in the top 10.

Ryan Anderson does provide a lot of spacing on the floor. His defense is a liability but he can really stretch that floor. In terms of the Warriors and my observations I have always said the key to beating the warriors is shutting down Draymond and Iggy. I think when you just focus on them that team's dynamic changes. Their stars are going to always get their points. But those two are what you can control. I think we will see Tucker finish out games at the 4 against certain teams. A lot is on Capela and what stride he has made to control the defensive end as well.

OP, I think your opinion of PJ Tucker is too high. You will probably be disappointed in him once you see he's a very limited role player who can be a liability on offense.

The reason Tucker is good for the Rockets is because he came cheap and his minutes and can be educed when he's not effective.

Honestly give Anderson some burn as a starter first with CP3 here and see how it works out.

This could be a good idea. Give Anderson a few games but I'm on board.

In theory the starting PF would be their best and Anderson gives up as many point as he makes. Have Anderson guard the backup PF would allow him to be better defensively (because that match up wouldn't be as talented) and he would be able to continue to score. The fact that he makes a lot of money should not weigh in to whether or not it's better for him to come off the bench.

Disagree. Placing ryno with the 2nd unit is a bad idea. He is mentally weak and needs egos like cp3 and harden to keep his confidence up

The fact that the rockets put out one of the best offenses in the league and he has a huge part in that. yeah lets just change that up just bc. the idea is terrible and totally disregards the balance on the team and actual floor balance. theres going to be times where you see that lineup sure but as a starting lineup no. you leave your energy guys in positions where they can excel best and for PJ thats off the bench.

    This.

It's amazing how one of the fundamental pillars of the way this Rockets team is constructed gets overlooked/devalued by some fans.

We can just shelf this until a playoff matchup dictates it.
