So his injuries are considered "career ending" yet teams are still willing to work him out & possibly consider signing him?

Is trying to hamstring the Blazers really worth all that trouble?

Hate to have another thread talking about the specifics of Miles' impact on the salary cap, but the question only just now occured to me. Will they have to pay luxury tax on his contract if he's put back on the books and they go over the luxury tax threshold? Hurting them on the cap figure is no big deal since they probably won't have cap space anyway.

Someone absolutely must sign Miles and play him 10 games to hinder the unstoppable force that will become the Portland Trailblazers. How about near the tail end of a season, when a team is looking to strengthen its lottery position (Miami this yr for example) we (or any other west team) trades their 2nd rd pick to that team looking to tank in exchange for A: cash and B: an under the table agreement for the tanking team to sign and play Miles.

    The Trailblazer Protocols
    It must be done.
    at all costs

I wonder how independent that independent doctor really was.

Could the Blazers buy him out if a team decided to sign Miles?

irrelevant - his salary still counts against their cap.

Best case would be for Blazers to pay someone NOT to play him...

I'm actually surprised that Miles actually WANTED to try out with another team.

It's one thing for the teams to want to screw Portland. But another for Miles to do so. He's getting paid regardless. For a fat, lazy guy like him, it seemed odd that he's actually trying.

Maybe he likes to be able to say he is an NBA player rather than just a highly paid guy that used to be an NBA player.

Then again, a famous Rick James quote comes to mind.... :D

He has 27 million on the line, I see him working out for all the teams he can. He probably has more motivation than ever to play now than he ever did. Even if all he needs to do is play 10 games. Miles was putting up some good numbers for Portland before he got hurt.

He has about 300k, or whatever his vet min is, on the line. NBA contracts are guaranteed. PERIOD... unless you break some sort of rule in your contract like not riding a motorcycle.

Miles is getting his 27 mil no matter what.

Miles never stopped trying to comeback. Even when there was talk of him being eligible for a medical retirement. The Oregon media were on his back about this probably were paid to by the Blazers.

Isn't that logical, isn't the defenition of a career ending injury that it ends their career?
