The Warriors added a 23-24 year old all star that is rapidly improving. They had to do it.... it also shows that for all the bad mouthing Morey gets for “chasing stars”, at the end of the day the league IS about stars. Even the Warriors GM that has lightly made fun of Morey for going after stars.... threw his best role player to the side to add a star, and lost almost all his other role players.
Curry going from playing alongside one of the best off ball guards in the league to a ball dominant combo guard. Should be interesting.
You would be trading him for a player not cap relief. We'd still be over the cap even if we traded him.
This was a total panic move Defensively speaking, GSW will probably have the weakest backcourt in the league. Then you're giving up depth and future picks for a questionable roster when Klay comes back? I am calling it now, the Warriors dynasty is officially over!!!!
Yes you trade your 15 million dollar one dimensional center for multiple players and or cap space and fill out the roster.
it wouldnt give the rockets cap space. you give up your starting center to fill depth but your worsening your depth in the first place while still being over the cap
They gave up one pick... they added a 23 year old all star guard for a 35 year old and a couple role players..... they made chicken salad out of chicken. A big win for them.
hopefully dlo snitches on steph. about time steph's ex-marital exploits get exposed on a national scale.
Wait a second??? I thought Tilman was the only one wanting to avoid the repeater tax? You mean the swimming in money Warriors are too?? The reality is maybe 1-2 owners are willing to go into deep repeater tax territory. Again it comes down to optics. The Rockets need to hire a damn PR firm.
The Warriors are the same organization that goaded Kevin Durant into playing at much less than 100% in the Finals, so it should come as no surprise.
Judging by the amount of stupid money thrown around today, this an excellent deal for the Warriors. They were going to be over the salary cap and paying luxury tax for the next 4 years regardless so they flipped expiring salary of Iggy and Livingston for a young all-star with potential. If Russell doesn't work out with Curry and Thompson, then Warriors can easily trade him considering he's under 25 and makes less than $30 million, which is great value by today's inflated salary standards.
I know he’s old, but Iguodala can still really help the Rockets. He gives them an elite defender and another secondary playmaker at the small forward position. Perhaps it comes to pass this time.
