This guy just has the "it" factor. I don't want to sound like a talking head from espn but it's true. You see the same stuff with early Brady and Russell Wilson. Guy is too poised, like he's getting some va-jay-jay before the game and during halftime.
typical nfl scout having to eat crow when a black qb over exceeds their draft standings... is mitch triubusky this years carson wentz lol if im a team im looking at watson and kizer, the nfl scouts know nothing
blah blah blah BLACK QB blah blah blah we get it dood - you like BLACK QBs skyrimownsall - he just can't leave us
I decided to check the Defensive Rankings DALLAS L- NYG -- 12th WASH -- 18th CHI -- 19th SAN FRAN -- 32nd Cin -- 17th Green Bay -- 27th Phil -- 4th *** Cleve -- 31st Pitt -- 13th Balti -- 8th *** Versus what the texans have been against By comparison HOUSTON Chi -- 19th KC -- 5th *** L - NE -- 3rd *** Ten -- 23rd L - Min -- 2nd *** Ind -- 26th L - Den -- 9th *** Det -- 16th L- Raiders - 20th The Phillie game has been their hardest test. They won't come up on but two more good defenses - Philly and NYG -- Detroit is slightly above average Make no mistake .. . DAK AND ELLIOT ARE DOING THE D*MN THING If they go 15-1 . . one of them might need to get MVP and the other ROOK OF THE YEAR Rocket River
I disagree with your rankings. I think per game stats are exceptionally deceiving. Points per game or yards per game don't really account for number of drives per game. If one defense only has to defend 9.5 drives per game its probably going to give up less yards and points per game than a defense that is forced to defend 12 or 13 drives a game. I also think yards per game while good can also be deceiving as they don't account for the various types of defenses. Some defenses are predicated on a bend but don't break philosophy. They may allow teams to move up and down the field but as long as the other teams don't score or are limited to field goals, that defense is going to give its team a chance to win. Points per drive is the best stat for determining which defenses are the best. Dallas: #9 NGY @ 1.69 points per drive #25 Was @ 2.13 #20 Chi @ 2.04 #29 SF @ 2.35 #19 Cin @ 2.02 #32 GB @ 2.56 #5 Philly @ 1.52 #31 Cle @ 2.55 #14 Pitt @ 1.87 #3 Balt @ 1.49 Houston: #20 Chi @ 2.04 #8 KC @ 1.65 #10 NE @ 1.69 #15 Ten @ 1.88 #6 Min @ 1.52 #28 Ind @ 2.31 #7 Den @ 1.56 #26 Det @ 2.25 #21 Raiders @ 2.09 The Cowboys have played most of their games against some of the absolute worst defenses in the league. Having said that they have played against 3 of the best defenses in the league including the number 3 (Baltimore) and the number 5 (Philly) defenses. The Dallas Cowboys offense has been far and away the most dominant offense in the game in per drive stats. Dallas Offense: #1 average Points per drive @ 2.85 #1 percentage of drives ending in a score @ 51.5 #1 average yards per drive @ 40.9 #1 average time per drive @ 3:21 That Cowboys offense is epically dominant with Dak Prescott as the Quarterback. Dak has lead three 4th quarter come from behind scoring drives and three game winning drives including one against the number 5 defense Philly. Additionally Dak is having a all time great year as a rookie QB stats wise. He is going to own most of if not all Rookie QB records. The following comparison was made against all rookie Quarterbacks with a least 8 starts. Completion Percentage 1. Dak Prescott - 67.72% 2. Ben Roethlisberger - 66.44% 3. Robert Griffin III - 65.65% 4. Teddy Bridgewater - 64.43% 5. Russell Wilson - 64.12% Passing Yards 1. Andrew Luck - 4374 2. Dak Prescott - 4224 3. Cam Newton - 4051 4. Jameis Winston - 4042 5. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...y=GAME_STATS&d-447263-s=TOTAL_POINTS_GAME_AVG NFL.com allows you to sort on any statistical categories you want. It looks to me like you sorted by average points per game. That stat does not account for the number of drives a defense has to defend or how long that defense is on the field. In other words its deceiving and doesn't really tell you what the best defense is. Do you really think Dallas has the 5th best defense in the league? I can tell yo for a fact that they are not. The reason Dallas defense only gives up 18.5 points per game is because they only defend 10 drives per game. That is the least number of drives a defense has to defend against in the entire league. The team tied for 5th with them (at 18.5 points per game) is Baltimore which has to defend 12.5 drives per game. Baltimore has a vastly superior defense to Dallas yet the are ranked the same. The Philly defense has to defend against 12 drives a game. If you really want to see what the best defenses are I suggest this site: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2016/opp.htm Scroll close to the bottom of the page and it will give you per drive stats.
It didn't matter. What you are seeing now from the Cows is the result of Jerry Jr. and Stephen. They are now in charge up at The Star. This is the type of team and style of football that they (and Garrett) wanted to get back to after the debacle last year. They wanted to return to the offensive style of 2014 when they had a punishing run game and a healthy QB. Had it been left up to Jerry, they'd be flopping around with Manziel. But what really makes me wonder is just who is doing the evaluation for the draft because I simply don't understand how Prescott could have slipped past the Texans as his skills and style of play is perfect for what they want (try) to do on offense. Whatever they saw in Osweiler has to be the biggest mystery of our time.
I'm a Cowboys fan, but you realize that plenty of other teams who have an urgent need for QB also passed on Prescott multiple times? It's not the Texans' fault. It's just luck like with Brady.
It WAS luck with the Cows because they had been making stupid personnel moves for the past 20 years and then they have Dak literally fall into their laps. Again, taking Jerry out of the equation works wonders for the decision making process. But the Texans look clueless as to how to find a QB especially since they passed on several good prospects in the draft only to wind up with Brock who looks to be a stopgap solution at best and I'm trying to be kind here.
But what about the other 20 teams in the league who could also use a Dak-level QB? They all passed on him in first three rounds too.
They wanted Lynch, couldn't get him and Jerry was really upset about that. Tried to get Connor Cook but he went to Oakland so they "settled" for Dak
If the season ended today Prescott would have the 3rd highest total QBR rating of all time after a 06' season of Brady's and a 07' season of Manning's. Even though the guy has a offensive line and other things are lined up perfectly for him to be successful. Taking ALL of that into consideration he still a phenom. In saying that I hope sooooooo bad that Jaylon Smith comes back healthy next season he truly could be better than Dak and Elliott. Jaylon Smith is a very special player.
