Whether you guys like it or not this team has an identity. So Wade really does not fit well in our team. If he was in his prime, then hell yeah I'd take him, no questions asked but at this point of his career I expect his production to drop off.
Doubt this is his first option or likely to happen at all, but I'd like him as a bench scorer/creator. Morey isn't a robot, and it's not like every player has to perfectly fit the mold of our team. We don't really have a backup PG, so Wade and EG would be a pretty good scoring combo off the bench.
Shooting a lot of threes doesn't require every player on the team to jack up a lot of threes. People act like in our system the only skill the team values in players is three-point shooting, which isn't true.
I admit it isn't a perfect fit, but come on. You really think Dwayne F-in Wade "can't" help this team in any way?
he could probably help but is this "help" actually enough? I would lead towards the side of probably not. Adding him doesn't move the needle enough to where it changes a dynamic of the team. you then sacrifice the other guys that were signed here off the bench for a reason. theres alot of things that go into bringing in a d wade who isn't close to being what he was years ago. the rockets loaded up on defenders for a reason.
you think dwill would come back to his state to play for rockets? or hes probably hated because of the dallas connection.
Windhorst: "Sources told me that the most important thing to Dwyane is what role he would have and being on a championship contender. The Cavs could potentially offer him the starting 2 guard spot...He doesn't necessarily see [Miami] being the ideal fit for him anymore."
