Very true, and I would add Ike, who was both highly respected and warmly regarded for his leadership in WWII, and Reagan, who played a hero in the movies (I'm only partly kidding about Reagan). Viewed politically, Mr trump has completely blown a crisis he could have used to raise his popularity among the public and capture the fence sitters. Instead, he has done the opposite. The appearance on TV speaking to the nation was a disaster. Heck, it was frightening. He was clearly terrified. I've never seen him look like that. He could barely read the teleprompter, and I'm sure the words were large, and that the pace was geared to "slow and steady." Yet it wasn't his fumbling with the words. It was his demeanor. The stock market took one look at that and had the worst day since "Black Monday" in 1987. The fence sitters, in my opinion, are going to jump to Biden, assuming he gets the nomination. The Democratic ticket will capture moderates across the board with Biden, again in my opinion, with suburban women in particular, who were already fleeing from trump, turning into a stampede. The mishandling of the crisis was already an anchor politically around trump's neck, and the GOP in general. His "address to the nation" literally stunned America. It's a tossup now as to what worries out the country more. The Coronavirus, or the fact that this fellow is president during an unprecedented threat to the nation, and to the world. Any positives coming from the late, but welcome, efforts to deal with the crisis have been swamped, in my opinion. Heck, it's so bad for trump now that I think Elizabeth Warren might have had a shot had she moved a little towards the middle early on and had some separation from Bernie. Maybe Biden will be bold and pick her to be his VP.
What a selfish prick. He should be banned for flying on any aircraft for 10 tens years. I would charge with a crime if I could https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/jetblue-passenger-banned-coronavirus-trnd/index.html
I've been hearing from people in Asia the rumor there is that this was created by the CIA to bring down Xi Jinping.
short 4 min clip there may still be a chance... maybe possibly even a good chance in some states (yes, you may have to quarantine states or regions)... ramp up the g-d testing now "There's clearly an indication that a systematic government-led approach using all tactics and all elements available seems to be able to turn this disease around," he says. ... "I mean, you had the Iran deputy health minister coughing on national television talking about coronavirus," Jha says. "But really not taking it seriously." That deputy health minister later tested positive for the virus. As people started to get sick, neither Italy nor Iran did much testing. They were slow to stop mass gatherings. Eventually both countries were overwhelmed with cases. So how has the United States' response been? "Our response is much, much worse than almost any other country that's been affected," Jha says. He uses the words "stunning," "fiasco" and "mind-blowing" to describe how bad it is.
Answering your question, why blame trump? trump, when asked if he regretted the very act of cutting the group within the National Security Council that would have addressed the current crisis.
There is nothing like a crisis to show the ingenious ways this country trying to fight the COVID-19 , led by our stable genius leader. MAGA! Are we there yet?
44mi long but you can read the transcript. “But at the same time, Secretary Azar has not always given the president the worst-case scenario of what could happen. My understanding is he [President Trump] did not push to do aggressive additional testing in recent weeks, and that's partly because more testing might have led to more cases being discovered of coronavirus outbreak, and the president had made clear - the lower the numbers on coronavirus, the better for the president, the better for his potential reelection this fall.”
Pelosi and Treasury Secretary close to ironing out an aid package (fiscal stimulus) for the CoronaVirus pandemic https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...virus-markets-fine-despite-plunge/5030997002/ The package would provide free testing, paid emergency leave and increased unemployment coverage, she said. She's expected to bring it to the House floor Friday. The latest legislation would come on top of an $8.3 billion package of emergency funding that Congress has already passed to fund research for vaccines and provide money for preparedness and response. Pelosi said lawmakers and the Trump administration will also be negotiating further steps. “Time is of the essence, and this bill must be passed and sent to the Senate,” Pelosi said. “The House will then get to work on a third emergency response package that will take further effective action that protects the health, economic security and well-being of the American people.” The measure the House is expected to take up Friday would: Provide free testing “for everyone who needs a test, including the uninsured." One caveat: There’s been a tremendous shortage of test kits available so access could still be a big issue. Set aside up to 14 days of paid sick leave and up to three months of paid family and medical leave for workers affected by the coronavirus contamination. Expand unemployment benefits to workers sent home due to the crisis. Ensure availability of food assistance such as SNAP, student meals, seniors’ nutrition and food banks. Democrats were able to place a temporary hold on work requirements under SNAP during the public health crisis. Provide federal Medicaid funds to help states defray costs associated with the crisis.
Trump's said that about 5 times..."“It goes away,” Trump said alongside the leader of Ireland. “It's going away. We want it to go away with very, very few deaths"
