So does Gavin Newsom. He's said multiple times that anyone who can should continue to pay mortgages and rent. But some people just aren't able to with the reduction in work.

lol sorry I have to be fair on this. Trump is campaigning on this every night with all the TV and press. And his approval is rising. The Democrats are also seeing it as a chance to push their agenda and trying every trick in the book. And all of them are likely getting rich off insider trading throughout their families. Both see opportunity. Never let a good crisis go to waste.
Surprisingly, that's an accurate cartoon, but not in the way you think. Democrats do look for the opportunity to help people. And yes, lots of what they pushed to get into the bill were intended to help people. On the other hand, trumplicans have a problem with helping people. Where they do see opportunity is helping big businesses, including hotel, travel, and cruise industries. And trump, well, he only sees a problem if it hurts his chances of re-election. He sees opportunity if it helps his own businesses. That's why he had a problem with the Democrat additions to the senate bill... they specifically prevented trump, his family, his cabinet, and congress from the opportunity to profit from the bill.
