I wish Morey would stop setting deadlines that he might not follow through on. Why get us worked up Maury??
Today, 12:12 PM #18841 t0mdotcom @WojYahooNBA: Boston will release center Vitor Faverani, league source tells Yahoo Sports. Boston needed to open a roster spot for trade. Interested or nah
Would be cool to turn that NOP pick into something that could help us, right now it would be great to have Asik
The issue with trading for Rondo was matching salary. We don't have a disposable contract of that size available. We would have needed to include Papanikolaou and/or Terry in order to make the deal.
Yeah, I'm getting pretty tired of these depressing days where things just keep getting worse and worse for Houston sports fans. It's been a long time since we've had something truly EXCITING happen to us. The day Dwight announced he was coming here was probably the last time I've felt truly jubilant as a fan.
I would think at the very minimum we could get Mbah A Moute from Philly for a second rounder today and release Garcia with the understanding that Philly picks him up. I can't see any reason why Philly wouldn't do such a base trade. And this would give us a usable salary going forward in trades. Of course, this is if NOTHING else works out.
Right. But it is still a shame that after all these years they couldn't bury the hatchet. "Don't ever underestimate the heart of a money grubbing owner"
Let me be crystal clear. I AM NOT AN INSIDER. I have no insider knowledge of any actual trade discussions. And, quite frankly, if I did, I would not be sharing it on ClutchFans. (No offense to those who choose to share.) I would not want to even remotely jeopardize the trade discussions by divulging anything about them. Bingo!
@basketballtalk Mark Cuban finalized Rajon Rondo trade while on set for The Colbert Report finale http://t.co/gNCleewx9e ----but we been having our eyes on rondo and other players since last dec. but Cuban puts himself in position to get done while at a show last min.
Cyber said that he was 90% sure Boston was asking for DMo to be included, that I'm sure was a sticking point as well...
Just to set the record straight I have never advocated trading for a useless or semi-useless contract to give him a "weird" extension at this time!! I have suggested that AT THE DEADLINE trading for a player such as JRich or Joel Anthony in order to give them a large non-guaranteed extension with a small $2 million guarantee or so for next season would be a VIABLE ALTERNATIVE to CAP SPACE going into 2015 in order to play free agency with. I hate it when people can't seem to understand context and time frames.
