Maybe you/me/we/all need to look at practices, try to see what 'they' see. If KJ is in demand then there must be a reason, yes? Hopefully, a good reason.
I would have like Rubio+Budinger, but Rubio+Shabazz/Martin doesnt sound that bad as well. Who knows what Morey is thinking tho, he still has a lot of time to improve the squad. I just wish he would resign Smith already ):
An exhausting er exhaustive list, thanks for compiling. BTW - - TJo for BenMc 'works' and (theoretically) reunites DMC with a real Kentucky bud and DM the GM gets a highly regarded draftee who has not (yet?) justified the lofty expectations.
So we're looking at a guy who plays/has the body of a 2 guard, but has the capabilities to run the offense? Or vice versa? A playmaker who can play off ball and the 2?
If Cod is talking about a playmaking, scoring 'off guard' like Harden then IMO this rules out both KMart and Rubio. The league knows Harden demanded a ball-handling, playmaking PG next to him (he made it public, after all). KMart is NOT an elite ball-handler and he isn't going to setup Harden for open looks. In this scenario, a Harden/Martin backcourt fails to address Harden's need for a true ball-handler/creator. Rubio is an elite ball-handler and playmaker but he's NOT an off guard who can knock down open shots created by Harden's penetration. So he's not an option. This leaves guards like Lowry, Lawson, Collison, etc. who can score, create and protect the ball in traffic.
Martin makes the most sense and would be great here. Doesn't fix the PG issue but is "guard help". Reasonable contract, off guard, probably cheap to trade for. One of AdelmanAdelmans old stomping grounds. Even Cyberex mentioned us pursuing him at one point. Would be the 2nd best pure scorer on the team and could play along side or in place of Harden.
Levine has a lot of athletic talent, but until he learns to hit a shot consistently, then he isnt' much help. He kind of reminds me of Gerald Green in his early years.
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....ts-rockets-to-add-a-playmaker-this-offseason/ Thought this was common knowledge, sorry.
How about a 3 team trade that had Lowry to Houston, Rubio to Toronto and Rockets assets to Minny. Lowry makes sense as a guard paired with Harden.
Codman, congrats on the new gig. Not going to even speculate on potential targets from your writings. Scola btw has already signed with Toronto, have fun at SL and if you hear of any openings in the league hit me up.
Pretty much no chance. The last 15 games of the season they finally gave him starters minutes and he turned into a 20ppg scorer alongside decent assist numbers. They want Lavine to grow alongside the rest of the their young core. He also brings versatility as he can play at either guard spot.
