He was my favorite non finals player until Parsons came along. Cat was an amazing player. fastest first step in the league, step back jumper, post game, and slapping the ball out of Kobe and McGrady's hands consistently.
One of my favorite players EVER. What Cuttino could do with the ball was amazing and underrated. He's one of the few guys that I think would challenge KD if they were both the same age. Not in terms of PPG, but head to head, that would have been fun to watch. Cuttino would have embraced the challenge, just like he played Kobe hard. I loved how Rudy gave Cuttino the ball on the left side ISO in the 4th. He DESTROYED the defense and let guys like Walt Williams, who wouldn't have wide open shots, shine. He was what you want a guard to do, in terms of penetrating for ball movement. Luckily, he had a green light to score with Stevie. Looking back at his averages, he was really underrated, not only with the Rockets, but with the Clips, too. Cat averaged 20 points ppg with us during two seasons as the second/third option behind Stevie, was a great teammate and, IMO, should have been treated better. I know we wanted TMAC, but I still say we could have held onto him. That trade didn't bode well for his career until he hit the Clippers with Sammy. Much Respect, Cat.
Daaaaaamn, Francis, sad to see he looks terminally ill. The man needs to take care of himself better.
Makes me happy to see. Cat was a favorite of mine and it's comforting to know that despite losing his career he seems pretty successful and happy.
The Rockets from that era have several players that are doing really well and enjoying life. Bobby Sura is another one. He has aged well, has kept his money and is living high on the hog.
I know he was trying to make a comeback, but could he pass a drug test? Or does he just deal the stuff?
Oh yes, Cat Mobley was banging her for a hot minute a few years back, she even painted his toe-nails!
Wow Cuttino is still in his 30s!? Why did I think he was much older? "Call me when you reach your 40's." - Grant Hill "Call me when you get into your 60's." - Julius Erving
A lot of older retired guys could actually still compete. They'll be too sore to move the next day though.
