Defensive rebounding. We gave up so many 2nd 3rd 4th chance attempts against LaC and GS last year. I wanted to break my ****ing TV seeing JJ reddick grab boards on T Jones.

Post offense. It wasn't listed. We need to figure out a way to get some easy baskets.

Still need more cold-blooded assassins from three. Or, we need a better shooting coach to make all the guys we already have, better. Because a lot of them were better shooters before they got here and somehow regressed once they arrived.

Hard to say without seeing this team actually play.... But right now it's turnovers.

Rim protection. Only when Dwight gets into foul trouble.

    Defensive assignments and consistency.

Are offense will be good, but we need to lock down on defense.

    Free throw shooting.

When the opposing team can just foul Dwight and force us to take him out destroying our rim protection, easy alley oop generator, and rebounding machine, it kinda hurts the entire team.
On top of that every player we have outside of Harden and Ariza are just flat out mediocre free throw shooters.

We need a legit defender at PF. DMo & Jones are both finesse players and a bit undersized at times. I worry the better teams will post up our PF's & slow the game down. We will get killed with offensive rebounds

Our biggest weakness is that our 4's get bullied by a lot of teams. Outrebounded, out worked, and outmuscled. Josh Smith helped a great deal there, but with him gone that opens up that big weakness. I think that is the area where we will struggle the most in the playoffs.

Lamarcus Aldridge AND David West going up against "Mo-Jo".
Blake Griffin AND Josh Smith going against Mo-Jo.
    Then Zach Randolph...

The matchup based paint defense is a bit worrisome. Regular season can get by with it. Come playoff time we've seen how it can get exploited. Just might see the value having a Chuck Hayes around.

Lack of better ALL-around offense past Harden was issue too. (No playmaking, no good 3 point shooting, no post ups, turnovers, bad free throws) too much "role playing" past Harden. The only elite reliable ability was Brewer's transition offense and T-Jones garbage-man points

Lawson himself can address a couple of those issues. Thornton and healthy D-Mo can bring some offensive abilities. Harden, Howard and even D-Mo are just high turnover players. Having others put the ball in the hole more and creating more can overcome that some.

    Three.... In this order..

    1. Defensive Rebounding
    2. A stout defensive paint presence when 12 sits.
    3. Free throw shooting

    Interesting.

I would have to agree. And I think the poll is bearing it out. Maybe not necessarily in the order you've got there but those things are all important with defensive rebounding and free throw shooting for sure being issues hanging over from last season that haven't been addressed. And with Smoove gone you could rightly say that our rim protection is down a notch...even if DMo returns healthy.

    1. Defensive rebounding is a bigs issue primarily.

    2. A stout defensive paint presence when 12 sits is a bigs issue primarily.

    3. Free throw shooting is a bigs issue primarily. Our bigs are our worst free throw shooters.

    =============================================

When you put all this together...sure looks to me like we still need another upgrade at the big man spots. Not unless you think Harrell is going to be so good that he takes care of all these things.

Defensive Rebounding. What drove me nuts last year is when Howard would come out the paint in order to contest a shot there was no one to defend the basket behind him on the weak side. Time and time again. We need someone to step up and protect the paint/grab the rebound when D12 is on the move away from the basket

A rotation big with a money mid range jumper. We'd be so tough to guard.

FT shooting and 3 point shooting must improve.... If we were actually a good shooting team we would be unstoppable

Defensive rebounding and defensive at the 4. However if Capela can develop a shot could he see mins at the 4? That might be interesting?

Btw I don't see FT shooting as much of a concern since we lost Smoove and Dorsey. Not to mention Caplea has a nice stroke and will improve.
