that would absolutely kill me. that's just about the only thing they could do to drive me away entirely as a fan.

What, you don't want to be the Houston Express, and make us look exactly like Round Rock?

I'd take the number off the front...but love them otherwise.

Me, too. I am a Houston Astros fan and nothing else. The league change was bad enough. Throwing away the rest of the history would be what puts me over the edge. I'd be team-less, living in Austin, and probably stop watching baseball all together.

"this just in" indeed. in other news, **** stinks.

Doesn't change the fact that we have feelings. My sentiments align with those expressed here by Max and Leroy. As for Selig and mlb: here's your F-bomb.

I never claimed they did and I'm fairly certain they don't. Should I care less about it because of that?

oh no doubt...but they're my feelings nonetheless. and they'll care if they completely remove the brand they've built in this town for over 50 years...because that would be the final straw even for die hards like me. good luck building a new fan base.

i just find it odd that so many of us have been shat upon by the mlb to completely change the fabric of this franchise by this move to the al, that all of the sudden it would be the team name that would send you over the edge. the astros aren't an al team. the astros don't use the dh. the astros don't play the rangers, angels, athletics and mariners 18 times a year. the astros are dead come this time 2013.

But the Astros are still the Houston Astros Baseball Club. In the end, that's all I need.

not sure what to tell you. i think for me more of the identity is wrapped up around the team, the team's name and the team's colors than the teams they play. i won't like being in the AL...but it's still MY astros playing other teams, and I'll want the Astros to win.

but a whole new franchise identity...that would lose me for sure.

I personally like the font the Astros currently have and I like how big Astros is spelled out on their home uniforms, so I voted to keep the current look.

The current logo scheme is clean.

    Dark Navy?

Do you mean black? Our current colors are officially Black, Brick, and Sand.

I do like it. I wish, though, that they'd dump the pinstripe home uniform and go with the solid white. I've always liked the red jersey and liked the black one when they wore it.

These ARE the Astros. I don't know why you would want anything else.
