bought a solid blue '47 brand hat for my son as a Christmas gift. took advantage of 30% off and free shipping over the weekend. hat is on backorder, though.
47s low crown astros hat looks nice. although not my taste, they do look quality. i thought 47 only made those raggedy, washed out, elastic band hats that people put beer caps on.. i need to see the new 59fifty hats in person.. every pic ive seen the H looks crooked, it might be the lighting with the bevel.. i will see by nov 3rd-7th:grin:
Those '47 bullpen hats look nice, but I'll have to see it in person. Very picky about caps. And I wish they offered it in a fitted style instead of just the adjustable.
which did you get? the bottom one looks so much nicer but it is velcro-adjustable. the top one is ugly and is fitted.. not a fan of that washed-out, wrinkled look..
i love the washed out wrinkled look...i can't stand the flat bill hats, and i prefer the cotton over wool. i bought the top hat...it replaced the one he had previously that looked the same but he grew out of.

your taste is your taste, nothing wrong with that. my only argument is that it looks nothing like the on-field hat.. i would assume most would want exactly what the pros wear.
Same here. I am not a fan of the high crown, flat bill look. I would like to see an orange version of the washed out hat, if they have them I'm buying both.

Yeah but those 59Fifty styles, aren't the bills wider? Maybe, maybe not. But even if you bend it, the high crown still just doesn't look right. It's why I've worn the same Astros cap for more than 10 years now. Cause I can't find one that is the perfect fit and look.
Bending them makes them look worse. They are designed to be flat, once you bend them it makes the top stick way up.
new era has a 59fifty on-field low crown cap.. i just dont see how people prefer the washed out, faded, wrinkled look over the actual on-field cap. if your cap gets faded and ragged naturally then fine, but buying it already like that..
this is my first time seeing the detail up-close, now i see why the H looks a bit off. the bevel is lowered so from certain angles it looks crooked..
I like both. Washed out look just goes better with casual wear. Since I wear a washed out college hat most of the time, I wouldn't get the same for the Astros.
