Crane/Astros better wait until they get final word from Bud/Nolan on if it's ok to get new/modified uni's. ;)

When I see the Astros in Angels Stadium.... I'm not sure any uniform scheme can take away the lameness of the league change.

But I wouldnt mind the retro uniforms. If the Astros are going to suck for another half-decade, might as well go with whats been their one redeeming identifiable quality- their rainbow unis or orange colors.

I think the Rangers tried for a while and ditched them. I think they tried them for spring training one year but didn't make it into the regular season.

As much as I love the old uniforms we shouldn't be wearing them, or uniforms that are referential to them, if we are an AL team. I don't want to see the rainbow uniform that Ryan and Richards wore while battling the Phillies, that Scott wore when he pitched a no hitter against the Giants on the Stros when they are playing in the AL.

To me that would be more of an insult to Astros' history than a tribute.

Work is slow today and with talk of new logos and unis took another shot at new logos.

Trying to do something fairly clean that looks like Nasa mission patches still using the old colors but breaking a bit more from the current and previous designs. Also wanted to do something that would contrast with the Rangers' logo since we are now considered their understudy.

Might take a shot at some uniforms later.

Replace the planet with a baseball (keep the rings). I know it's cheesy, but it kind of is a throw back to the old Astrodome logo.

Take the stars away (not the big star).

I'd like to see what that would look like. I like it, I just think they're a little busy.

Can you try making a simple, much less busy logo? Love the open star concept.

Houston 1836? Not only does it celebrate the birth of Houston, but is also probably their win/loss record every 54 games.

The major lesson here: don't piss off Hall of Fame flamethrowers. The shaft we've taken from Nolan is downright unbearable.

Delete 1836 and replace with Astros. It should look good then.
