This video basically shows why one is still a top10 NBA player while the other is closer to a role player. Still in favor of Melo, must be said he tried on defense and his movement was not bad at all. I mean, like his 1on1 D over guards looks not worse than Rhyno's... And he's a PF right now. And btw, Ariza couldn't follow Chris anyway. Cp3. Those handles, that shot from anywhere, that competitiveness, IQ... Ridiculously good. How lucky we are.
He does look a little winded. I am hoping practicing and working out with chris paul all summer is going to help him build the stamina he needs to succeed. Now I am hoping Melo and Paul will join Tucker and Harden in a Drew League game.
Most of these guys are probably still working themselves back into shape. Don't wanna empty the tank in July, its a long season. Even Harden and PJ didn't look in top shape in terms of conditioning at the Drew. The BlackOps pick up games start next week so I think Melo in particular will hit a new gear but he's not close to the shape he should be in come camp. But again its July.
That speaks more about how exceptional CP3 is. CP3 lights up everybody in these 1-on-1 drills, and that's why he's a nightmare when big men switch on him.
He got less and less in shape every time he was going to go up for a rebound and saw Westbrook flash across his line of sight to snatch it before he could even move.

He needs to do both imo You know that’s biggest thing melo brings to this team imo. The ability to take a dribble and create off the close out is crucial. Ive wanted to pull my hair out everytime I saw Ariza pump fake and drive and not know what to do with it after he got past the close out. Or even Rynos slow ass get past the first defender because there scrambling but not be able to finish. Melo can finish. This is going to be the final evolution in the MDA harden pick and roll offense in Houston. I don’t see much more the Rockets need offensively. Now it’s about adding one more wing defender to go along with ennis. Rockets are better than last year I think ppl will all agree after 10 games into the new season.
Enjoyed the video. CP3 looks like he could start the season tomorrow. Melo needs to put in some more work and get in better shape, but there's time for him to get in game shape. It's the end of July. If Melo can do that, he's going to be a very interesting addition. MDA has to be cooking up some ways to put Anthony to good use. The guy needs to bust his arse, though, and get ready. We have high aspirations this season. Melo can help make a difference.
I’m excited for Melo this year, but he for real needs to get a nutritionist to lean him out. Would immediately guarantee him a bigger payroll next year and several more seasons of playing if he did. I don’t understand why he doesn’t.
