CP3 and EGO should come off the bench when they come back

the ONLY thing Rivers has on CP3 is that Rivers doesn't play around when it's time to ISO or when he has an open shot. CP3 will refuse to shoot when he is open and will mill around dribble to find someone else before he finally shots the ball.

 

I guess people quickly forget we were down 20 at one point. Worriers were shading James with 3 defenders the whole game. Then they began to double him early, that doesn’t happen with CP3 in the lineup. I agree limit his minutes but he’s gotta start to get a rhythm.

 

i agree. let house and rivers start. and let CP3 and EG lead the bench, and if needed, CP3 and EG can close the game. let them both play the ginobli role. its hard for anyone bench to deal with them, they would overwhelm most second units.

 

Chris Paul has been very ineffective for his standards this season, and while I think he'd be more effective coming off the bench, I don't think it's going to happen. I still don't like the idea of starting Gordon at the SF position, so House should definitely be starting until we find a viable starting-caliber SF on the market.

And EG been addition by substraction. He is nowhere as effective as he was, yet he still jacks some wild **** from 50feet away. Rivers at least picks moves according to success probability

 

EGO hasn't payed well this season but to say he was ineffective is silly. Ego's shot is trash but he was relentlessley driving to the basket and his defense was good in the starting lineup. Just like when Ennis went out with injury, and the Rockets continued to win, fans start to forget.

 

I actually fully agree with your plan OP.

It actually freaks me out that "the best players should start". I personally think making 2 strong and balanced units is the best way to even out your star power. I don't think Rivers is better than CP3 which is EXACTLY why Cp3 should come off the bench. Add cp3 to starting line up sure it will improve, add Cp3 to bench line up and the bench gets way deeper.

I don't know. If I was a all star level NBA player playing with Harden the thought of running the second unit and making it super strong would excite me way over starting.

And that's when they all started.

 

We should also limit CP3 to 25 minutes per game during the rest of the regular season and let Rivers get that 10 minutes of playing time thar CP would get.

Keep those hamstrings as fresh as possible .

 

I wanna move EGO back to the bench but he is playing so much better when he starts, so why mess with that?

Here is a better plan: have EGO start, trade him for KCP plus a pick, then have house and KCP fight for the starting spot.

That or trade house for someone if he builds his value up. Maybe get a three way trade with Washington going where they end up with house and a pick.
