I think with the constant flood of news media doom/gloom about this virus because it is new and an unknown this really adds to the collective fear out there. So for anyone looking for a positive story about what its like to actually catch this thing, read this and I hope it allays some fears out there: https://vancouversun.com/news/these...ted/wcm/b6d34123-24de-4eb8-96d7-7c083db54a52/ Yes it can be deadly and you could get really sick, but for a lot of us who get it we may not even be able to know that we have it.
How about just getting tested for it regardless of symptoms? I mean the most wealthiest country in the world should have a system in place to do this every month until growth subsides.
Here's some must-watch / must-read info on the state of private-sector testing being ramped up...vid interview with the CEO of Cleveland Clinic and an article about Mayo Clinic's efforts. In short, the diagnotic equipment was already available (from Labcorp/Quest), yet your labs still need to prove specificity with how your technicians are calibrating the tests and processing them. Other hospititals with suitable labs, technicians, etc could set up similar testing. FDA/CDC had to relax specificity provability measures to allow Mayo and Cle Clinic to get OK to move foreward with how they prove test results (CEO mentions how China relaxed approval measures too much, and many unhelpful, false-positives came through) CEO of CC says the same-day speed is helped by having their own in-house labs (don't have to ship samples), and is a matter of both "technology and technicians". Basically, the Lab is being "certified" for testing. as an aside, Cleveland Clinic confirmed 5 new positives in first day of in-house testing Must-Read (imo) Article about Mayo Clinic efforts, who seem to be ahead of Cleveland Clinic wrt capacity https://www.sonomanews.com/news/10817585-181/quest-diagnostics-labcorp-mayo-clinic?sba=AAS Interview this morning with CEO of Cleveland Clinic
They just put a doctor's office in my small town under quarantine and also quarantined 40+ ppl in the neighboring village, plus one infected in another neighboring village and town each. I had a good run.
RIP In a serious note, take care of yourself. Try to stay inside as much as possible and if you have to go out wear at least gloves if you can't find a mask
well with no other sports on, we still have this! Haha, I'm not serious, but it does suck to have suddenly no choices to watch.... Obviously it makes sense to limit exposure and least of problems but sports at least gave us some escape.
Moving to the northern most island of Germany this Sunday (Rügen), so hopefully I can evade the sheit. Rushing the move seems smart in retrospective, could be quarantined each day with how bad it has become in my region.
Stay safe!! I know you'll pull out fine but I definitely think that'd make me feel uncomfortable, I mean I can't imagine what it's like, but we might all know soon... I seriously hope everything goes okay though and like @malakas was saying just limit exposure if you can. I'm hoping we finally get some good news
You have to leave as fast as possible. Every day that passes the people who have this virus around you become at least 2x. Assume that everyone in the most risky categories is already infected : doctors, nurses .taxi drivers, etc anyone who usually meets many people daily or takes public transportation in big cities. If you move there with your parents/ grandparents, then you also have to protect them from yourself.
Here the government finally took the plunge and closed every coffee shop, bar and restaurant. Only take aways and deliveries will remain open, pharmacies and supermarkets. We have 1 dead, 5 in critical condition and total 190 confirmed cases (up 70 from yesterday). It includes 3 children under 10 years old with mild pneumonia hospitalised. I am very happy that small children got sick. Why? Because only this way mothers will keep their children locked up. So far every small child and teenager was walking around meeting friends and playing in parks and playgrounds. These children can save thousands of lives. Of course I assume they will get better soon. Italy has had no victim under 20 year old.
I think you might want to call your relatives to pick you up by car because the train cannot be trusted at this point.
Has your government announced what they will be doing for individuals with lost wages and the small businesses impacted by the virus?
