NCAA canceling all Spring sports. This is a tragedy on a very personal level for me. Someone I love dearly is a senior at a major university who won a major conference championship in their sport and now the NCAA Championships are canceled. I mean, this person has devoted their entire life to this and this was their last, best and most realistic shot at winning an NCAA Championship. Devastating doesn't even begin to describe it. This is this persons probably one and only shot to go to the Olympics too which is probably also f**ked. It's a personal tragedy of the greatest magnitude. Imagine if that was you or someone you loved. I don't see why they can't figure out a way to have some of these competitions. Millions of people are still going to work and interacting every day. It doesn't stand to reason.
A personal tragedy of the greatest magnitude is for your parents to die and not even being able to burry them because funerals are banned. This is happening to Italy right now.
And then those 2 first round picks and 2 rights to swap get traded for some additional cash considerations
Go f**k yourself if you don't want to be empathetic about the tragedy these athletes are facing. Sure, no sh**, it could be worse but that doesn't mean whats happening to these athletes isn't tragic. A&&hole.
HTM..you better prepare for everyone to have personal tragedies of the greatest magnitude from here on out then. I think you don't understand what is about to happen. This is a pandemic. It is not a scare. It isn't in some run down African country. It is here and it has reached the US and Europe. People WILL die around everyone of us. You know DEATH. Prepare your mindset because there is no escaping the pandemic.
I would expect someone to have empathy for those senior NCAA athletes... not be a d**khead about the sh** situation they've tragically been dealt.
Yea, I don't take kindly to someone being an a**hole about the terrible tragedy NCAA seniors are facing. We can be empathetic for all types of people at this time... NCAA seniors should definitely fit into that group.
I have also been dealt a **** situation. And so have you. A much more **** situation than missing a chance to participate in an athletic tournament. My parents may die this month. Well anyway you can lash out and rage all you want to me, but the virus is deaf and doesn't care.
My sister blew her brains out due to depression. What you posted registers as a disappointment at most. I don't think those words mean what you think they mean.
More then one thing can be tragic. You literally have people who have trained their entire lives in lesser celebrated sports where the NCAA/Olympics is the highest level and they get to their senior year and best shot at a championship and shot at the Olympics and it's taken from them by a virus that unfortunately for them, appeared at this time. An NCAA Championships/Olympics has never been cancelled for this before. It's absurdly unfortunate and yes, I think tragic. It's literally a once in a lifetime thing.
Or you know, you could just be empathetic, or not say anything at all. It's especially tragic for NCAA Seniors and Olympic hopefuls, as I noted. Theres nothing particularly special about 2020 for me. There is for a lot of people. The situation maybe sh** for all of us but it's clearly especially sh*tty for some.
Will Cain brought up a good point. We WILL be Italy in 2 weeks. They are the future. You are looking at it. Pay attention. Streets empty. Only Grocery stores open. Breathing devices in medical centers the big short.
Only he who brings forth the SINGLE GREATEST tale of woe, shall have the title of PERSONAL TRAGEDY bestowed upon him. (clap clap!)

A woman from NYC is now hospitalized in Vegas. She was there for a conference over the weekend at the Mirage and stayed on the strip. Vegas casinos are trying to suppress it as much as possible until S hits the fan, then they're all boned. They're really hoping S doesn't hit the fan.
