Dude, either the right to vote is innately enshrined to every citizen by our Constitution or you need to start petitioning your Congressman with a hell of a list of exclusionary factors. As Americans, we're all born with the same "one man, one vote" right in spite of external factors like bank account size, education levels or driving distance to the DMV.

Would you get pissy about people limiting your second amendment right to firearms? Well, now you can see why others get upset when you suggest that people whose opinions your deem anecdotally invalid, who have committed no crime other than being distasteful to you, should have a fundamentally guaranteed right stripped.

Go back and read the thread over again, I point out pretty early that there are those who don't deserve to vote in every political party and that follow every political ideology.

Again, go back and read the thread over again, I'm not saying that my preferred version of democracy is what the US has, I'm pointing out my preference and nothing more.

Anyway this is par for the course for the D&D, a potentially interesting conversation about what an ideal political structure would be is bogged down by "Fox News" and "THAT'S UN-AMERICAN!!!" comments along with dumb accusations of hatefulness. Way to go guys.

At first, you were on the idiot side of the argument.

We used to have Literacy Tests prior to voting.

People who make arguments for suppression of voters based on literacy, intelligence, creed, color or gender are arguing against the Constitution, the Amendments to the Constitution, the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Supreme Court, and should just leave the US and go somewhere else...or get in a time machine and go back to your favored era of US.

We don't care about your antiquated arguments to "improve Democracy," which this country and many great minds spent many years correcting its mistakes wrt Voting.

    Just leave.

LOL, keep thinking what you like, but I will be happy to engage with you in any battle of wits you would care to propose.

    What's the phrase?

Voter ID laws aren’t really intended to discourage fraud, they’re intended to discourage voting.

Funny how people are so concerned about making sure only the "right" people vote, but are then vehemently opposed to any barrier to accessing firearms.

Folks who support the plutocrats want as few as possible of folks with lower incomes to vote so they can win elections. Period.

It is up to the rest of us to crush them and take back our democracy from the plutocrats and the misguided folks who support them.

Another state Supreme Court strikes down unconstitutional voter ID law.

Arkansas Supreme Court Strikes Down Voter ID Law

The high court noted the Arkansas Constitution lists specific requirements to vote: that a person be a citizen of both the U.S. and Arkansas, be at least 18 years old and be lawfully registered. Anything beyond that amounts to a new requirement and is therefore unconstitutional, the court ruled.
