I think we need to see how this works before we start making plans regarding Dmo or Jones.

Jones is the best of the 3 in a situation where he's not scoring at all, gives some rebounds, some defense (so so man defense, good blocks leading to transition), casspi gives some good rebounds, whilst dmo gives you 15 minutes in the opponents uniform.

Casspi is a better player than Jones and D-Mo? Have you looked at his career stats? And he did have a few preseason successes this season. Why would you think that outweighs his work for the last three full seasons?

What position was he playing the last 3 seasons, and on what teams.

Really don't know if he is better than Jones and D-Mo, but he has been better so far.

Because basketball is not played on an Excel sheet. Casspi had "bad" stats the last few seasons because he was misused on ill-fitting teams. He is a perfect fit here.

The better question is: have you seen Dmo and Jones play basketball?

Let's not make this thread about Casspi, there are already enough of those.

    Here's a challenge:

How many players can you name that are in the rotation of contending teams, that are worse than Dmo or Jones?

I think both PF's stay in rotation, Casspi is the Delfino role, he'll backup both forward spots, and I'd give both DMo and Jones time at PF to develop them with the most time going to DMo because he's the best option at the 4.

Nice. So it all resides in your "lying eyes". You can project anything you want when you disregard the stats. I view it like the CF passion for Canaan months ago. It all falls apart when presented with reality.

I have actually watched every D-Mo game since he was drafted by the Rockets. Yes every Polish league game.

This is just my opinion. I do not engage with any certainty if I am not backed up by stats.

Anybody on the Heats roster not named Wade, LBJ or Bosh.

Ray Allen is definitely better than dmo and jones. Hell I'd take Haslem and batter over them too.
Plus lebron being lebron and bosh being better than our third best player outweigh everything else.

The fact that the first example you gave is the Miami heat proves the mans point right.

Dmo has some nice post moves and has shown some touch around the rim tho. He deserves some minutes just for that.

Thank god you aren't a GM of an NBA franchise.

It is always safe to think good stats are to be found for veterans signed by the Rockets, given our GM. We may not know what he was looking at, but I have no doubt they are there.

Admittedly cheating, but he cheats too.

    >>Good points. DMo and TJo should only be useful for garbage minutes or giving the starters a breather. I have to agree that we can't tolerate much of their play. I would prefer to see Casspi play the 4 as a stretch. And I prefer the second option in giving more minutes to the vet Garcia since's a proven 3 point threat and sliding Chandler to the 4. The time is now.

I'd bet he was looking at his corner 3's, that's what makes Casspi special. If you can hit the 3 like that, and you can learn when not to chuck them up, then there is a place for you on any bench.

I'd bet he was looking at corner 3's and rebounds. But who knows what else.

I honestly do not Know but how does Casspi's corner threes compare with Parsons? Thought so.
