Yeah, I'm not saying it's likely that UH would beat Duke ...or that I would place a bet on it happening. I'm saying among the most unbeatable teams in college basketball over my lifetime, most ended up getting beat. UNLV is the king of that argument in my lifetime..but there have been Kansas squads and others that have appeared to be that way. It's a fertile ground for upsets...they happen maybe with greater frequency than any other sport other than MLB...but the MLB ones aren't nearly as dramatic because they don't allow 64 teams in to their playoff tournament.
Wednesday should be interesting. A good litmus test for this team. UH playing only it's 3rd road game of the season against a conference opponent that is 6-0 at home. Too bad it's not on TV. Guess I'll have to watch on my phone while watching the Rockets. As usual.
Nice! My sports app says it's on "ESPW" whatever that is. I just assumed that meant one of their streaming-only channels. Now let's see what this team can do on the road!
That Michigan-Houston matchup last March turned out to be titanic. Too bad Houston choked. Very likely would have made the Final Four.
I agree it was too bad but I don't think Houston choked. The guy from Michigan hit an incredible shot that was well defended.
I hear ya...but these are college kids...and it still took a miraculous off balance shot to win that game, even with the missed FTs.
I mean, one player missed 3 of his final 4 free throws and the other team hit a miracle heave. Houston was never that far ahead in the game, nor was Houston favored to win that game in the first place, let alone go far in the tournament. Not a choke. Just disappointing.
I'm a Texas alum and fan first, but I grew up in Houston around UH alumni. The UH-Michigan game hurt me more than Texas-Northern Iowa because I knew UH had the talent and experience to go far. Y'all are right that both things are true - Davis missed his FTs, and Michigan hit a miraculous shot. Anyway, big game tonight against Temple in North Philly. Would be a statement win.
I went to Baylor...but came home to UH for law school. My son is at UH now...my dad went there previously....I'm finding having my son there carries way more emotional attachment to their athletic department than I would have imagined. I'm invested...literally and figuratively!!
Let’s go Cooogs! To be honest I want to watch the Rockets-Bucks game so bad, but I can’t until this game is over. This is a tough one.
same here. this is a good one. atleast this game will be over probably by halftime of the rockets game
