To Shumpert’s long career of mediocrity, his 30% shooting, him consistently being injured or his $11 million contract? Maybe to Ennis’ 50/37 shooting splits, his legitimate size at the forward position or his minimum deal? Perhaps to the first and 2 seconds the Rockets gave up for the benefit of that awesome upgrade?
Casual fans who can't escape bitterness complain about their team when it is doing well. Why so bitter, Carl? You should revel in your time, our time, not search for a reason to despair. Having a contending team, and not simply a good one, is rare. It's rare for us. Ask Hakeem, who wandered in the wilderness on OK teams for years until Rudy find the magic key. You are missing the magic. The key is to appreciate what we have before it is gone. The good times never last. If they did, they wouldn't be special. They would be punching a time clock and going through the motions. That isn't us, not today, in my humble opinion.
No … that move did nothing at all to move the needle and hurt their chances of getting better beyond the end of this season. But adding Rivers , Faried & House …. moved the needle significantly. The statement that the team got better is factual - but the critical point is "when" they got better. Hell , from the beginning of the season up to right now - they got better by leaps and bounds. What irks me is that they could have just held onto that contract and pick(s) …. and used them to get better later.
